All weekend, CNN has been reporting that sources close to the president claim he intends to fire Mueller soon, possibly as early as Friday. This because Mueller is closing in and is expected to bring charges, perhaps against Kushner or Don Jr.
Tonight, CNN repeats the report about Trump firing Mueller, followed by a new report that a hugely overconfident Trump believes he's going to be cleared very soon. Apparently his lawyers have told him to expect an exoneration letter from Mueller, possibly by the end of the year.
How can they possibly square those two reports?
