Anyone had disc replacement surgery on your neck?

I'm struggling with my decision to move forward with it over an epidural shot and need some opinions from anyone who might have had one.

Mine would be non-fusion, disc replacement, similar to the picture below. It's the result of a rather large (7-8mm) herniated disc in my C5 that's somehow pinching nerves near the C6. The excruciating pain associated with it mostly subsided after my round of steroids so I wouldnt be choosing to do it because I'm hurting. I currently have numbness in my left arm, forearm, and thumb/index finger, entire right hand and I have lost roughly 40% strength in the left arm and about 20% in the right arm. I've been doing PT for about 1.5 months and I'm not seeing a lot of improvement and the right arm started showing symptoms a couple weeks ago.

It's not exactly a minor surgery so I'm curious if those who have had it are happy they did? That and I would appreciate feed back from anyone with experience with it.
