I'm struggling with my decision to move forward with it over an epidural shot and need some opinions from anyone who might have had one.
Mine would be non-fusion, disc replacement, similar to the picture below. It's the result of a rather large (7-8mm) herniated disc in my C5 that's somehow pinching nerves near the C6. The excruciating pain associated with it mostly subsided after my round of steroids so I wouldnt be choosing to do it because I'm hurting. I currently have numbness in my left arm, forearm, and thumb/index finger, entire right hand and I have lost roughly 40% strength in the left arm and about 20% in the right arm. I've been doing PT for about 1.5 months and I'm not seeing a lot of improvement and the right arm started showing symptoms a couple weeks ago.
It's not exactly a minor surgery so I'm curious if those who have had it are happy they did? That and I would appreciate feed back from anyone with experience with it.
