A few quick nuggets from the defensive side of the football:
- Has anyone seen or heard a thing about freshman DT Chris Daniels? We don't have exact details of his injury, but we were told today that he still isn't able to work with the team. It's surely a lower-body injury as he was doing rowing exercises at the open practice last Sunday.
- When calling around today I asked someone what was going on with sophomore DE Charles Omenihu not getting as much work with the ones as expected coming into camp. I was told that senior Bryce Cottrell was a player that the staff actually really likes. Also, that one of the benefits of Omenihu playing the FOX last season as a 250-pound freshman is him now having the versatility as a 270-pound sophomore to play on either side of the line. One person said Omenihu is working with the second group at FOX opposite Quincy Vasser in a lot of positional work, but works in with the first group at SDE during team drills.
- One person said something that will make the OB community happy - "they're working (Malik Jefferson) off the edge."
