Virginia just won due to a bad bad horrible foul by an Auburn player. It was the right call. It was a foul. I was rooting for Auburn the underdog, but man, what a crazy ending.

No surprise that the two best defensive teams are playing for the title. Should be a great game. Virginia can play D just as well as Tech and they have a more balanced offense in their starting 5. Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome are both dead eye shooters and Deandre Hunter is one of the best 2 way players in college basketball. However, Tech has a deeper bench while Virginia relies heavily on their starters. It's going to come down to the stars being stars. Jarett Culver vs Deandre Hunter.

I'm concerned if I'm Virginia because Culver has yet to have a breakout game offensively. He's been outstanding on D and he'll continue to impact the game on that end. If he breaks out offensively, Virginia is in trouble.

Tech has been the toughest and most physical team in the tournament. They've also had the fewest turnovers of any team in the tournament. If Virginia is able to score and somehow win the turnovers battle and free throw game, they should win by 10-15 points. Especially if Guy and Jerome are knocking down shots. Ty Jerome is a baller! He's the X factor for Virginia.

In the end, I really believe Tech can get it done IF Owens is able to play and be effective defensively. Culver needs to be a factor on both ends of the floor.

Tech has a better bench and if the defense can shut down one of their players Tech will win that game I hate seeing tech play for a natty in basketball of all sports

I'm unfortunately taking Tech even though I completely and totally respect and agree with DRTXhorn's take on this----- I think you're 99% correct in your assessment- I simply think there's one tiny aspect you're missing-- I think tech will have small lead late in the game, and they will make their free throws.

That's my only take on your solid take.

If Jarrett Culver finds his stroke early TT will win easy. TT is more athletic than VA. And they're lean, mean, and hungry more so than VA. VA barely escaped against Purdue and Auburn, TT has won the last 3 games by double digit margins. Their last 3 wins have been against two number two seeds and one number one seed and if they beat VA that'll give them a win against another one seed. Add it up and I see TT taking home the trophy.

T Tech "wrecked" ..........

wait for it.....

Lubbock.

Taking a cue from other fan bases that riot after wins apparently they commenced to flipping cars, vandalism and starting fires in their home town. Reports are saying tear gas was used.
I can't understand why some fan bases tear up their own place after winning.

Tear gas and Lubbock in the same sentence just sounds strange.

Having the highest VD rate per capita of any college in America for the last 3 years--- this win just secures the top spot for four years in a row.

If they win on Monday, there are going to be a lot of Lubbock strippers getting new titties.
That's actually one town I've never been to a strip club while visiting. Do they even have them? A quick yelp search says yes--- they have one named jaguars. When the yelp reviews start with "if you think YOU'VE got it bad--- check out this place......" That's not a ringing endorsement.

I've been to Lubbock and have visited the TT campus. I think it's a nice looking school. But the worst thing about Lubbock is the water. West TX water taste awful. You ever heard about the west TX smile? I can tell you It's's real. My wife used to work for Culligan and we met a Culligan rep from Lubbock. He told us How easy it is for him to sell water softeners there.

One last story. Some years ago a recruit named Larry Micheaux was deciding between TT and Baylor. He chose Baylor because Waco had better tasting water. True story.

I've met some pretty coeds from TT. They certainly have more pretty coeds than the cow college which may/may not be a compliment.

I grew up in the tip top of the panhandle in the 70s/80s. We only drank tap water. I don't remember anything bad tasting about it. I just checked and we shared the same aquifer as Lubbock (Ogallala Aquifer). I especially loved the cold water from the windmill water wells. Those were really good-this I do remember. Now that I am in El Paso, our water here has higher than normal lithium. Dubbed the Texas Tranquilizer. Hopefully, y'all can overlook some of the senseless sh*t I post--It is just the accumulation of bad water over the years:)

North of Amarillo the little towns have wells into the Ogalalla aquifer. Formed when the glacier melted 10,000 year ago or a little more. Spearman has the best tasting water I've ever had.

About 16 years ago my wife and I lived in Midland and believe me the water tasted awful. While we were there she did good selling water softeners.

You said you're from the panhandle? 22 years ago we went to Palo Duro Canyon and it's the best kept secret for TX beauty. The TX Grand Canyon. We hiked all over went to the cowboy breakfast and saw the musical Texas. Our family had a great time.
