Our secondary is made up almost a whole new array of guys as well. Cook and Thompson are playing the 2 safety positions. Watts is going to one of the corners and the other corner position is going to come down to Gilbeau, Jamison, or Brooks. I count at a minimum 6 new starters on this defense.

I really like Cook playing safety. He's a great athlete and plays well in space. I think he could end up being a day 2 pick in next years draft.

He's a decent sized kid. 6 1 and around 200 pounds. Earl Thomas was only 5 10 and around 200 pounds himself. Safety should be a really good fit for his natural abilities.

If we are having to worry about our safety making a bunch of tackles this year then it's probably going to be the least of our worries.

I thought he was more of a CB than safety, maybe he put on some weight. We absolutely should worry about our safety's ability to come down hill and make tackles. Did you not watch last year?

If guys are consistently getting to the 3rd level then we have bigger problems to worry about. That likely means our front 7 is getting dominated again this year. He was a safety coming out of HS but was moved to corner when he got to Texas. Moving back to safety puts him at his natural position. He's the one guy I expect to have a really good year.

He hardly played corner last year. Was our best player at the hybrid position for the first 5 or so games.

Gentlemen,
As a fan and as our respective team's enter Fall camp I just want to say good luck with your team going forward this season with as few injuries as possible. Should be a good year in the Big 12. A few new coaches and I'm interested to see how well Baylor and Ok. St. can reload. Also curious how Kansas and KState look this year. I have a feeling @StrangerHorn will find a way to post about how much he wished the Horns had that little KState rb, can't say I blame him.
