Aaaand Clemson zooms right back down the field with an answer. They've had a couple chances to break out on top big and blew it. They only seem to click when they need an answer.
That wasn't a good play call and should have been stopped for a loss but a missed tackle and Howard goes about 40 yards
I feel pretty damn good that the major University that gets Tom Herman will be getting the next Saban/Meyer of college football.

Roll Tide!! I thought the two teams were about equal except in One area:SPECIAL TEAMS and Alabama excelled in it .Hats off to Clemson as a damn good team.

I feel like Clemson was the dominant team but they deserved to lose. Forgetting to cover the TE twice and giving up a kick return is difficult up come back from. Bama won because of good coaching. That onside kick was the perfect call at that moment in the game. They also have great talent all over the field.

Rooting for Bama because they are also in the SEC is like rooting for the Devil because he is also in the Bible.
Take not Aggy, stop rooting for others and claiming their accomplishments because you are embarrassed that you can't do it yourself. This isn't "if you can't beat em, join em" because that just means they beat your more often.
that onsides kick....it wasnt like Bama snuck that on Clemson....they were in onside kick formation....nobody was ready for it anyway.....not good coaching on Clemson's part. Not only did the Bama player field that un touched and un opposed, he almost was able to break it for a TD....never ever have I seen that on an onsides kick
I don't think he was allowed to advance that. I think once he caught the ball the play was dead. But ya, horrible coaching. Dabo is a solid coach, and he coached a great game, but Saban got him on that call.
You're correct, in college rules, you are not allowed to advance an onside kick as the kicking team. The kicking team is also not allowed to try to catch the ball without it having first bounced off the ground if there is a player of the opposing team in the area the ball is headed (cannot impede the ability of the returner to catch the ball rule). The reason why Dabo was so pissed off was that the Bama player caught it without it ever having bounced off the ground, but the problem for Dabo is that he didn't have a player in that area of the field to contend that the ball had to bounce off the ground first. Dabo screwed himself by constantly having his Return unit bunched up as opposed to the usual spread out formation.
