Here we go lol. Some of y'all laughed at us saying that he wouldn't leave.

But this gambit won't be the one that works. Bannon is saying the amendment does not bar someone from running again if the terms are not consecutive. But Amendment XXII says:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once"

It does not say consecutive anywhere. It's pretty clear. You get two terms. And there was already precedent for a guy holding the office non-consecutively. If they had wanted to allow a person to hold the office in a non-consecutive third term, they would have worded it accordingly and they did not.

I have no doubt that a few Trump people (and Trump himself) will keep trying. I wouldn't doubt that there will be some "emergency" that mandates Trump to postpone the 2028 election. However, that could only happen with the assistance of the bulk of the GOP. And a lot of them know that right now Trump IS the GOP, and they don't like it...they would not be likely to support throwing out the Constitution to keep him in office forever.

This is just amateurish from a typical Trumper.
