David Pierce and the Texas staff stay busy, and the UT commitment train keeps chugging along for the baseball program.

Today, heard that the Longhorns received a commitment from 2018 outfielder Eric Kennedy, who was previously committed to Alabama. He attends Calvary Christian in Tampa, Florida and is listed at 6-0, 190 pounds. From the left side, he can fly out of the batter's box. According to Perfect Game, he recently ran a 6.46 60-yard dash at an event 10 days ago.

Eric is the younger brother of Nick Kennedy, who signed with the Rockies as a fifth-round pick following a strong sophomore season on the mound for Texas. At the 2016 WWBA World Championship in October, Eric hit .364 over 12 plate appearances and was named All-Tournament Team. As a junior, he hit .556 with three homers and a .661 on-base percentage.
