Jeff Brohm has decided to go to Purdue. No all that surprising he's from Louisville and it's only 250 miles from Western Kentucky to West Lafayette, Indiana. I guess he doesn't want to leave where he's been most of his life. He would have been a big hire who knows where they'll find their next coach. Oh and dyk that PJ Fleck declined to be interviewed?. Ouch twice.

Jeff Brohm is a good get for Purdue. Did a real nice job at Westren Kentucky. Clearly no one wants to step in to that Baylor mess. The program even without the issues they lost basically their entire 2016 class and you probably won't have much of a 2017 class. You can't succeed there.

Mike Gundy is apperently meeting with Baylor..... interesting
Wow. Is there issues with the admin or boosters? If Gundy just keeps up what he has done without any championships at OSU, I think he will retire a hero. OSU can't expect to be better than they have under Gundy. If their expectations are national titles, then they are misguided.

Supposedly he and Boone don't get along. Which of course they don't. Boone wants to be the face of OSU football and the reason it succeeds. Gundy knows they aren't going to do better than him. That's a recipe for friction.

You know T Boone is just like Phil Knight at Oregon. Both men pretty much single handedly paid for all the upgrades for athletics at their schools. I imagine Gundy has gotten tired of having to take time out of his workweek to give T Boone the game plan when he has more important things to do. I'm sure the next coach at Oregon will have to do the same thing with PK.

Sad for me to admit, but, I can truly see both sides. Well, I guess there should be limits to what T Boone wants in return. I guess Gundy does need all of the upgrades to compete for recruits...

Also keep in mind. When Boone made the donation he had it put in the contract that he got to pick the next coach.... he's still waiting. I'm sure that's one reason the relationship isn't great.

I get that these boosters have infulance and that's fine, but there has to be a line somewhere. If phill knight or Boone ran their companies the way they apperently went thevprogram ran they probably wouldn't have near the money they do.

Robert Allen, longtime sideline reporter for the Oklahoma State football radio broadcast, reported Monday evening coach Mike Gundy is meeting with Baylor.

"Rumors look like more than rumors and Mike Gundy is apparently meeting with Baylor," Allen tweeted.

As sideline reporter and publisher at GoPokes.com, Allen is embedded in the OSU program. Allen is an OSU graduate and former football player.

FootballScoop reported Monday evening sources said the initial report is "straight coaching search legend....not based in reality."

Regardless of the Baylor report, there is also a question regarding the recent contract extension for Gundy.

Gundy and Oklahoma State agreed to a two-year extension this offseason, which would take him through the 2021 season. It was approved by the OSU Board of Regents in June.

But that contract has not been signed.

Gary Shutt, university spokesman, said in an email Monday that Gundy has the revised contract but neither Gundy nor the university has signed it. (Gundy signs first, then the university signs, Shutt said.)

Shutt said the university does not expect it to be finalized until after the season.

Baylor is searching for a permanent coach after firing coach Art Briles before the 2016 season. Under interim coach Jim Grobe, the Bears started 6-0 but lost their final six games

According to football scoop Gundy did not talk to Baylor. Apparently negotiating with Arky State coach.

You know it was reported that former Baylor coach Grant Teaff went to Clemson last month. What was it about Chad Morris? Brent Venables? Larry Fedora the coach at NC? Guess we'll never find out.

I also read that Baylor is willing to pony up 4 mil for a new coach.

Blake Anderson at Arkansas State has to be considered a bring down from where they were aiming.

Could the situation be even worse than we know?

This is a downgrade for Baylor know doubt. I will say though ark state has a knack for finding coaches
Gus malzahn
Hugh Freeze
Brian Harsin

Their last 3 head coaches.

Feldman : BREAKING #Temple’s Matt Rhule will be the new head coach at #Baylor, source tells @FoxSports

Had to Wikipedia Matt Ruhle. He went to Penn State and played under Paterno and Sandusky.

Hide yo kids hide yo wife Waco.

This is a great hire. From the outsized expectations (we were never getting Herman) to things that were never going to happen (Gundy played OSU) to Matt Rhule - he took a piece of dung and turned it into a conference champion. A young, no nonsense disciplinarian - exactly what we need. He will get a chance to prove the Temple success was not a fluke. A new Rhule of law at BU!
