Robert Allen, longtime sideline reporter for the Oklahoma State football radio broadcast, reported Monday evening coach Mike Gundy is meeting with Baylor.
"Rumors look like more than rumors and Mike Gundy is apparently meeting with Baylor," Allen tweeted.
As sideline reporter and publisher at GoPokes.com, Allen is embedded in the OSU program. Allen is an OSU graduate and former football player.
FootballScoop reported Monday evening sources said the initial report is "straight coaching search legend....not based in reality."
Regardless of the Baylor report, there is also a question regarding the recent contract extension for Gundy.
Gundy and Oklahoma State agreed to a two-year extension this offseason, which would take him through the 2021 season. It was approved by the OSU Board of Regents in June.
But that contract has not been signed.
Gary Shutt, university spokesman, said in an email Monday that Gundy has the revised contract but neither Gundy nor the university has signed it. (Gundy signs first, then the university signs, Shutt said.)
Shutt said the university does not expect it to be finalized until after the season.
