Lets get down to brass tacks. Texas needs to make some noise in the Big 12 Tournament. Likely, the Horns will need to win a minimum of 2 if not 3 games to host a regional. The Horns have a solid RPI and a good resume, plus they finished 4 games above .500 in Big 12 Conference play, but finishing 5th in the conference and losing 3 conference series, including a sweep at the hands of Oklahoma State at home really changed the perception of this Horns squad. Texas does need to to bolster their RPI and a couple of wins in the Big 12 tourney over Oklahoma State and potentially TCU would go a long way towards doing exactly that.

Check out the latest episode of Around the HORNS we covered the KU series, the Big 12 Tournament, what Texas needs to host, and a fun segment at the beginning.

***At the bottom of the post you will find the full Big 12 Baseball Tournament Schedule, but here is the first day schedule of events and what happens if there is a win or loss by Texas to Oklahoma State.

    • Sunday - The Horns built an early 7-0 lead but the bullpen gave up a 10 spot in the 7th inning which doomed the Horns
  • The Pokes are 5-5 over their last 10 games
    • Swept SEMO
    • Lost mid-week to DBU after giving up 2 runs in the 9th
    • Swept by Texas Tech in Stillwater
