Big 12

Is it just me, or does the overall quality of college football seem really down this year? The SEC is crap, the Big 12 looks like garbage, the Pac 12 looks like crap. The Big 10 looks decent so far, but who knows how good they really are. I just think the quality of college football is REALLY awful right now.

Well... just saw the trill is still the trill. Only at TCU. If he is the best they have, trouble for the frogs.

I agree. I think you coul see multiple one loss even a 2 loss team in the playoff this year.

What a difference a week makes. OU is right back in it and Mayfield has staked his place in the Heisman race with his gritty performance tonight.

By that logic, Shane Buechele should be in the heisman race. The little BM has 557 yrd, 5TDs, 0 int, -1 rushing yd. SB has 524 yrds, 6 TDs, 1 Int, 67 rush yds and 1 rush TD. The only reason BM is mentioned in Heisman race is because of pre-season hype.

Um I was being sarcastic and no, BM is on the Heisman watch list because of what he has proven he is capable of. Buechele appears to have the making of a really good qb but I think he's going to have to put at least a full year together. More times than not the Heisman is based on a career or a couple of years of consistency, right or wrongly so.Remember Adrian Peterson?

I think you just agreed with me...I didn't realize AP won a heisman ::sarcasm:: ;)

Big 12 looks lousy. SEC looks putrid, but let's be honest, part of that evaluation is comparing them to their own hype. Pac has secretly been the worst conference for a few years. Is it possible that B1G is actually the best conference this year? Who am I kidding, as soon as any of those teams not named Michigan or tOSU play a team with any kind of speed, they look like they were built for a much slower game.
If Texas puts a whoopin on Cal (they will), do we dare to start to think big? It's been so long since it was even a possibility, I'm not sure what I'd do with myself.

Wisconsin didn't look too shabby when they played a team with speed. The B1G probably is the best conference right now.

Remember Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston?

Sure do but it sure doesn't happen very often

I think Manziel and Winston signify that it's a different era for the Heisman and in college football in general. The only reason Peterson didn't win it is because he was a freshman. But I think he'd win it easily as a freshman in this era.

I would like to think so but Manziel and Winston sure acted like total shits after they won it and I wonder if that is something the committee will take into consideration with young players or maybe they were going to act shitty regardless of their age and winning the Heisman had nothing to do with it.

I think some of this has to be attributed to "parity", state of the art training (even in small schools), and technology - everyone can easily see and save the best examples of the sport.

WEEK 1: SEC look bad with the exception of Alabama
WEEK 2: BIG 12 looked bad with the exception of UT
The PAC has really one team, Stanford and i don't think they are that good.
The ACC has only one team that stand out and that's Louisville. Clemson look bad and I'm definitely not sold on Florida state.
The BIG 10 has a solid Ohio state and Wisconsin but i do think Michigan is over rated(look at their impressive win against the powerful Hawaii team lol).
UH is a powerful team and looks very good throwing and running but if the QB is out. There is a possibility that they will lose even if they play no one from here on out till Louisville.
RANKING THE TEAMS FROM 1 - 6:
1) Alabama
2) Ohio state
3) Louisville
4) UH
5) UT
6A) Wisconsin
6B) Stanford

I've seen the Louisville QB twice - last year's bowl game and last week. Each time he looked like the best player in the country. Who would've thought that the UH/Louisville game in November would be the biggest game of the year?

I'm not sold on WI but I do agree that MI is overrated. Their friends on gameday refuse to acknowledge that their non con is weak. Basically the Big X is tOSU and everybody else. As someone said above with the exception of the buckeyes they are nonathletic and slow.

When it comes to the ACC wth is wrong with Clemson? I'm going to wait and see on the Louisville Cardinals.

Could the Pac XII actually be worse than the Big XII?

When it comes to the SEC why is GA in the top ten? Can Leonard Fournette be an AA when it counts?

So far it seems like there is one team in each P5 conference that is 14 points better than the rest.

Lastly, I remember a few years ago when LSU won the nc with two losses. It just might happen again this year.

I also think WV can make some noise this year and I wouldn't keep OU out of the equation but everyone knows BS can't win the BIG GAMES. Georgia is a avg looking team. Also, what about all these Heisman contenders. Leonard and Chubb is blah looking. Louisville QB look great. As of right now, he's in first. Shane will start getting more attention when he hit his 300 yards passing. Have anyone notice the WR group? Blocking down field and catching the ball. There is 2 young guys that I want to see get more time on the field. Roach and B.Jones. Them 2 are legit. I'm very impressed with them and the whole freshman and SO players. Can someone please make a serious pic of the punter. That guy is great

I agree about WV they are the only other Big XII team to have held their own in non com play. And you know Baylor may end up surprising us all. Don't be surprised if they are undefeated when we play them. I've got to see this Louisville qb.

I watched the Baylor/SMU game, and was not impressed with anything Baylor did. Russell looks incredibly rusty from being out for basically a year. Their running game was non existent for most of the game and the defense had troubles with SMU who was running their backup QB out there. Then you factor in that they only have 70 scholarship players and their lack of quality depth could create a huge problem.

Absolutely nobody giving OU a chance this weekend against the OSU. Can't say I blame them though. Need some people to step up for OU to be considered legit.

To bell: How about you, big mouth? Let's hear a prediction since you won't shut up about your game on multiple threads on the Longhorn site.

OK but you have to reciprocate on both games. I'm picking Texas and OU. I don't care about a score. A win is a win.
