Best of luck to all of the kids and parents hoping to get good news today. Expectations are that the non top 6% kids who applied by the October 15 deadline will hear today between 4PM-8PM.
UT Austin is believed to have had ~91,000 applications. 80% of the freshman spots will reportedly go to top 6% applicants this year (top 10% rule is suppose to be capped at 75% but they missed the mark this year) leaving fewer spots for an even larger pool of holistic admissions applicants. Next year only top 5% will be auto admits which gives next years' holistic pool better odds than this years' holistic pool.
