I'm not hiding anything. I graduated from UT Austin with my undergrad degree, & my graduate education is from Baylor. I grew up in East Texas & I walked on the UT football team in the Spring of '97. Then, I realized that I had no long term future as a football player, quit the team, and joined the Army to finance my education.

How long would a post like the OP last on SoonerPoop if roles were reversed? If anyone wonders why Horn fans (some of us) won't pull for OU, there's your ticket. For a program with the history of OU to have to go to a rivals board for validation, seems like attention whoring
What's to understand? We are all part of a conference if our conference does well on a national stage it adds legitimacy to the members if they do poorly it takes away. It's that simple. It doesn't really matter if the plan is to finish at the bottom every year. If the plan is to turn this shit around, then it would be nice if recruits, national media, and the playoff committee didn't think the Big 12 was a joke.
Sure you can counter that if you win them all we will be golden regardless, and that's true, but there is a good chance that even with a good team we could lose a game.
I don't care how any other team in the big 12 does. There is no love or hate for any other team in the big 12 aside from zeroU. I will never, ever, for any reason pull/root for blowU or aggsy, ever.....really, ever. I was pulling for OSU to beat zeroU, just as I pulled for every team on their schedule to beat zeroU. I frankly don't care what the big 12 image is if chokelahoma is involved. (ok, there was one execption..I hoped that zeroU would beat Bama in their bowl game. Only because I was soooooo tired of hearing about how great the secsecsec was from aggsy).
You can say, "but lupar, isn't pulling for tcu the same as pulling for zeroU". The answer is no. We laugh at aggsy because they never win sh1t and claim they are superior simply because they joined the secsecsec. That is simply pathetic. I don't pull for a conference, I root for one team and one team only, Texas.
The best part of all this is Scholz and jsto and a couple of other educated babies on this board. Scholz it is really cool that the Texas Brand has faded out of any public respect. Notre Dame was not awarded for beating you in a joke of a game. Oklahoma was not punished for losing to Texas. That should thrill you. Charlie got the team motivated for one game this year. You propelled OU by beating them early. Texas bought in to false hope after the RRR. Regressed game after game. Rhodes was fired after he skunked you all. Let that sink in Scholz.

I am from long ago and far away. I remember and long for the days when the winner of the RRS was the favorite to win the Natty.Back in the day, all you had was the popularity contest of the polls to get you the crown at the end. Therefore, you HAD to pull for the team you just played (whether you lost, and especially if you won) to win out because that increased your prestiege. I admit that in those days, OU was in a different conference. It didnt have to do with nuthugging or conference coat tailing, it was for making yourself look better. I got in the habit of rooting for OU after the RRS and never saw a reason to change it. If that cramps someones style, they can kiss my burnt orange ass.
