Blockbuster spurs trade

If they get Flagg they'll have the foundation they need to be a decent team. Problem is, I think Wembey will either succumb to the injury bug, or leave the Spurs after his rookie deal is up.
He might get hurt but he isn't leaving after rookie deal.

Quietly the spurs improved their lottery chances yesterday as Atlanta’s two play-in losses put them back into the lottery. Very small odds, but add those to the spurs’ odds of landing Flagg.
Wouldn't that be ridiculously lucky and rrrrrrealy piss off every non-spurs fan.

Going forward, the organization will have to open the wallet to surround Wemby with NOW talent, not tomorrow maybes. Besides that, pray Wemby isn't a glass cannon.

At the end of the knicks/pistons game you saw the worst call in the history of officiating. On the last play Tim Hardaway Jr threw up a desperate shot and missed. But he was fouled and it was a hard foul. And to everyone's shock he wasn't called for it not only that it wasn't even reviewed and the knicks won by a point. The lead official acknowledged he made a mistake in judgement. And now the pistons are down 3/1 and facing elimination tonight.
And pistons fans have a right to be angry.

Happen to see Castle won rookie of the year today? That’s two years in a row a Spur has won it. With two picks in the upcoming lottery, side chance it could be three.

Well the pistons bounced back and have forced a game 6 in Detroit. No matter how many times the knicks got close the pistons answered. Otoh the bucks did the exact opposite and now their season is over. And the celtics finished of the magic no surprise there.

San Antonio Spurs

Bucks receive: Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, and a plethora of picks and swaps for Giannis.

Isaac Levy-Rubinett: If Giannis and Victor Wembanyama had joined forces in San Antonio 200 years ago, Texas might have been able to defend the Alamo. Alas, let’s pair them now and unleash the most devastating defensive duo in recent NBA history. Together, Wemby and Giannis have over 15 feet of wingspan. They are defensive game breakers and the two most dominant paint scorers in the league. Their nicknames are “Freak” and “Alien.” It doesn’t take much to imagine the indefensible Wembanyama-Antetokounmpo pick-and-rolls, or the way De’Aaron Fox’s ability to get downhill and score in isolation would open things up even further. There isn’t a more compelling basketball situation for Giannis; the only questions are whether the Spurs would pursue such an aggressive tack (they should; see above) and whether they have the assets to win a bidding war.

If you are the Spurs you do this one?

Can't beat what the Rockets and OKC can offer but it would be in the game of everyone else.

I believe the Rockets, Atlanta and Orlando can put together better packages.

Of course OKC can put the best together just not sure they really need to. They seem pretty good just the way they are!:)

This is the time where people come up with all sorts of trade rumors.

As a fan Jeremy Sochan, and Devin Vassell, haven't shown me much. And there's a lot of good players on the spurs but we haven't found the right combination. There will be a lot of trades this off season for the spurs.

The knicks will move on to the second round in an exciting series win over Detroit. The pistons made a dramatic turnaround from last season but their inexperience showed tonight. And now the knicks move on to play the celtics.

No way the Spurs give up that much for Giannis. That trade would set the franchise back about 10 years. They don’t need to entertain a trade like that. Just keep adding quality pieces in the draft and free agency. They’ll eventually catch lightning in a bottle like they did with Parker and Ginobili.

The thing is I don't think the Bucks would take that trade. Castle is a good young player that will hopefully shoot better and Sochan And Vassell are both pretty average. Used a lot of their draft capital on Fox trade.

Giannis is a top 3 player in the NBA and only 30 yrs old in his prime.

It's official Mitch Johnson is now the full time hc of the spurs. They're hiring from within so why did they wait so long?

Everything about Mitch Johnson sounds good. He was the last guy I was thinking of. But the spurs have always been secretive and apparently Mitch was the choice all along.

This answers the spurs biggest off season question. After medical evaluations and advice from his family he's finally acknowledged that it's over and enjoy retirement. And besides when your our age ( I'm 70 to his 76) there's no such thing as a minor stroke.

Now that the interim tag has been removed Mitch Johnson has an off season to prepare for this job. And no job opening is as good as what Mitch Johnson has inherited. An incredible core ( Fox, Wemby, and Castle), a couple of experienced veterans, and 2 lottery picks, the spurs have a bright future. Some rope players will be traded but I'm confident that Brian Wright will find the right combination.

Go spurs go

@Oldmanastro I thought the warriors were going to blow out the rockets. But Houston dominated from the opening tip to the final buzzer. I've never seen Steph Curry shoot so poorly behind the arc. The final in your face was when the warriors intentionally fouled Steven Adams. If your follow the rockets you know the man is a horrible free throw shooter and I'm talking Wilt Chamberlain bad. But he made his last seven. On to Houston for game 7 I'll be pulling for the rockets.

This is a very interesting observation. We all know Pop loved getting all the Covid shots and boosters plus he hated Trump. Could his stroke been a byproduct of the Fauci ouchies?
