Apparently society's morals have changed drastically in 2 years.
B. Stoops wants to have it both ways. Use the felon, then once his playing days at OU are over, pretend to take the high road. No, of course I wouldn't do that again! We can't give second chances any more.
It's like all the fellow Christians who voted for Trump. They hated Trump in the start, but then when he became the Republican nominee, they suddenly started urging us all "not to judge" and to forgive DJT for all the crap he's done and said. That didn't stop them when it came to the DNC nominee. If Trump leaves under scandal, they'll go back to pointing out all his sins, as if they knew it all along. Or they'll treat him like Reagan, lionizing him while ignoring the bad.
No apologies for the political analogy. It's part of life. We all have to deal with it. We might as well have some fun. Just keep it respectful among ourselves.

So Stoops didn't see the video at all back in 2014? Confused on why now it's so disgusting vs the first time it was seen. Could it be all of America has seen it now?

"I would propose that you fly me out to Oklahoma after the first of the year and we sit down and create some new policies that will prevent future incidents of violent athletes being recruited to Oklahoma football," the email said. "I would propose that Oklahoma become the gold standard in football. That your program would become the example of accountability and best practices for recruitment and discipline of violent athletes."
Stoops said Wednesday that he had been in touch with Tracy "a few days ago."
Asked about her email, Stoops said, "I believe we can do that. I look forward to hearing again from Brenda, and I'm sure our university administration and athletic department will as well. Hopefully that can happen."
I sort of laughed inside after reading this. A school like OU can't figure this out on their own? There's a reason that companies do a back ground check on a person before hiring them. If grown "highly" educated adults that run the school and athletic program can't figure out why they shouldn't recruit violent offenders than they shouldn't even have a job. This goes for any school!

The pressure should continue to be turned up on this. This isn't his first instance of ignoring discipline issues and using a joke of a RS as "punishment". And now under just a little heat he is saying he wishes he'd have done differently. But poor little Bobby can't change the past. Yes you can, you can actually suspend the kid.
More importantly, what is the real joke is his "I wish the tape would have gone public years ago". When he was one of the chief guys fighting to bury it. For that indiscretion, I'd fire him.

And Bobby was busy trying to hush the media and avoid the heat. His real intentions are clear. It isn't doing the right thing. It is burying stuff to try and win games.
Now we sent Charlie packing for losing, but first and foremost I want a coach with integrity that runs the program right. Next he needs to win. Losing games for a few years will get you fired. But losing integrity is the first thing I would fire you for.

Bob Stoops is disgusting and a liar. No, Bob, having a shred of decency hasn't become a new thing in the past 2.5 years. Chaisson? Shannon? DGB? Westbrook? Doesn't this guy have daughters? My God.
When stuff started heating up at Baylor last spring, someone on here posted "drip, drip, drip" - meaning it wasn't going away. Which it didn't. This is eerily similar. His statements yesterday will just turn up the heat --- things have changed the last couple of years? He wishes the tape had come out earlier? Are you kidding me?
I'm more curious how all their fans that thought Mixon's punishment was appropriate feel about Bobby's revelation that, after back to back Big 12 Championships, Mixon should have been kicked off the team. I would say that having a coach like Stoops is an embarrassment, but we are talking about a fan base that revere's Barry Switzer.
I voted for Trump. I thought he was bad, I just thought Hillary was worse. I could not stomach having to look at her face and being lectured to by her for 4 years. Least of 2 evils.

FYI, Duke basketball just suspended their pre-season All American player for tripping a guy (albeit not the first time). But that's how a coach with class and decency handles things. Just for comparison.

Oh Deej, it's 3 days before Christmas, shouldn't you be out buying that last can of fake snow or emptying the shitter one last time before the relatives arrive instead of worrying about little ol me and what I post. I think a normal student would have been in jail if he did what Mixon did. Local police would not cover up for a normal Joe, just a big time FB player. I actually think the biggest outrage should be over the police. They can not just be fanboys, well I guess they can.
So not sure it would matter about the student code of conduct. But the student should be gone.

You're probably right. OU is wripe for another disappointment- They are on a winning streak and we feel like they are better than they were when they lost last. But at the same time they have a chip on their shoulder, they are the underdog and they really need to end on a high note. So hey who knows
