I'm starting my work on the spring game and I think Breckyn Hager looks like he fits well enough having bumped down to FOX. I'll have to finish the whole game, but, at least from the start, he's trying some nice moves on Connor Williams and he'll beat some guys as a rusher like that in the Big 12 if he keeps it up.
I had wondered if his move from ILB to FOX DE (which is an LB/WDE hybrid edge-player), would be any good for Hager, and if it was only because of lack of depth at the position this spring as Derick Roberson is still not cleared from concussion.
Regardless of reason, Hager does not appear smaller than starter Naashon Hughes comparatively, and seems to at least look like he belongs at this position - even though it is technically "on the defensive line" and Hager's just over 230 pounds.
So when I saw this picture tweeted out by incoming freshman DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles about the D-Line group I wasn't surprised to see Hager in it.
