Cal spread

You talk down all of our opponents, play up who they're missing, dismiss who we're missing, on and on and on every week...

Quit being a dishonest sack. That's all. You talk down all of our opponents, play up who they're missing, dismiss who we're missing, on and on and on every week...
You are picked to win. If you can't handle the pressure then maybe you should stop watching. I am giving my opinion on who I believe is going to win and why. Unlike you on your OU prediction, I actually provided some back up. And you sure didn't hear me crying about your prediction.

tOSU is better than you. How's that for backup?

I don't feel pressure from your posts, I just don't like dishonest people. You're a dishonest person and I don't like you.

No not really but Cal is no world beater Scholz. Just for reference, Cal has played San Diego St. and Hawaii. San Diego St. is ranked 110 in Pass defense and Hawaii is ranked 104 Scholz. When I say that Texas should win by a large margin, I'm not joking.

That's just a self-supporting comparison. It could be SDSU and Hawaii are ranked that low exactly because they played Cal's high powered offense. I have no idea if that's true but to use rankings of any kind this early in the season to support your conclusions is just silly.

You stating Texas will win easily doesn't make it fact. It's your opinion. An opinion based off of incomplete data.

Could it be that those 2 schools have only played 2 games, one of which was against the no. 1 passing team in the country, hence the low ranking?

Well yes Hickey but when you look at San Diego State and Hawaii overall stats, you can get a pretty good idea of what you're dealing with here. Look Texas is picked to win, should win and I don't want to hear any more we're young up and comers for the 3rd year in a row preemptive bs ok. The bottom line is you are picked to win and I agree.

Ah, yes. Now we are agreed. We are favored (not hugely, though) and we should win. I think we will win. But to dismiss Cal completely shows a willful disregard of reality.

I wonder if BellDozer will talk Texas up and downplay our opponent leading into our October 8th matchup?

Damn Dozer!..... Is OU playing this weekend?... How about you worry about that game and just leave us alone? You have said the same thing over and over and over and over and it has no more value.

a fairly important game if you are a Sooner

Man!....reading this thread you would think he had no idea they were also playing. post something once and you make a point. post it twice and folks think no one paid attention to the first post. post it a bazillions times and insure that nobody cares, they just want to u see the whole deal.

Yes OU is playing and it will take a miracle for them to pull of an upset of OSU. I'm not anticipating that but I am rooting for my team.

I know you would think some of these folks have reading comprehension problems because no matter how many time you present the facts, they find a different angle to try to see it from=)roll

I thought bell predicted an okie win? I know he's hoping Twinkle Toes has a big game and gets back in the Heisman talk.

I'm hoping for a win but in no way expecting one. OU would have to play mistake free and OSU will have to turn the ball over based on what I've seen so far out of both teams. OU's OL is not up to par so far.

Rewatched Cal v Hawaii and Cal v SDST-----

Bottom line is Cal D tackles like we did in Mack's last year and Charlie' first year. They flat out can not tackle on D. Game plan is super simple--- start running the veer to the right--- and IF they stop it, start running it to the left. I'm not kidding you. They are that bad-- I know that doesn't sound like a very sexy offensive scheme-- but you don't have to be sexy in this game. It's literally THAT simple. We shouldn't have to throw the ball more than 15 times to win this game.

You're like-- "Well wait clob, that makes for a very boring game and shouldn't we use this game to help Shane get better and get ready for OU and the conference push?"
I'm like-- "No bro. Nothing good will come from us throwing the ball 30+ times on saturday. Nothing good---".

The LONGER this game goes on, the BETTER the odds for Cal sneaking up behind us and breaking it off in us. Run the ball-- run the clock-- pound them into submission-- get on the plane and wave goodbye to Strawberry Canyon.

Webb has completed only 62.7% of his passes. Now, mind you, these games were played on the road and if you think he;s only going to complete 62.7% against us---- don;t bet on it. MOST kids play better at home. So lets say he bumps that to 68%-- just 5 more % points. If they throw is 70 times-- that's 47 completions. 47---- he's averaging 12.18 yards per completion---

THAT'S 572 yards.......... even if he sticks to his average completion of 40 per game-- that's 487 yards passing.

Nobody throws for 487 yards and doesn't get into the end zone multiple times. The only way to prevent this is to do the VERY unsexy thing of running the football. 12-15-17 play drives. I love the hurry up O we have now but perhaps we should slow that puppy down a little bit. I do NOT want to get into a scoring race with Cal--- they have the crowd, they have the "night game" factor-- they have US coming to town (extra motivation)-- they have a national TV audience--- all a recipe for Cal to step up and make life difficult for us---- unless we pound them into submission.

After watching Houston struggle last night after shellacking OU, I see why Bell is not expecting much Saturday.
Did you watch the full game last night? Cindy did good for a while but it turned into a blowout. Houston has talent and they keep coming all game. They beat OU fair and square.

This isn't a pass happy offense. We will always run the ball more than we pass it, and that's not to protect a young QB that's just the Gilbert offense.

Houston wore out Cincy on defense and The Cincy QB was like a bug swarming a light with those red helmets garnering all his attention. Cincy is bad and Houston was sloppy.

I did. Houston looked weak. In all fairness - I have to wonder about the extent of Ward's injury. He looked awfully pedestrian last night, as opposed to his game against the Sooners.

He did but they had a good game plan for Houston and it worked for a while but I agree as someone mentioned above that Houston played sloppy but give Cincy D credit for their goal line stands
