Cale Gundy

He didn't get fired because he read lyrics off of an iPad during film study. There are plenty of ways to shut that down if someone got a little butt hurt for getting called out for not paying attention. There has got to be something more and this was just the justification Venables needed.
Hmmm.. Why would Venables divide the fanbase, alumni, and former players? Actually, I don't think anyone is divided, I think that they are about to line up against Venables as we did to Tommy Boy. When race is inserted into anything, people take sides. If former players are standing up for Cale, then trouble is brewing. Venables's honeymoon period just went poof like a fart in the wind.

We can only guess.

Supposedly Gundy said it 3 times, all in the same setting. I guess he was reading the lyrics of a song or some shit. Oh well, he said it, someone could have died so he had to resign. It is what it is.

So the n-word in rap songs is acceptable when it is sung by black people, and when other black people sing it/say it that's ok as well, but if a white guy sings it/says it, that's "objectionable" and they're "racist". Makes no sense. The word is offensive regardless of who says it.

If Gundy isn't fired this probably never gets out. Since he was fired Venables released one statement then had to go back and release another statement that didn't add up.

If Venables wanted to keep Gundy all he would have to do is say something like Coach reprimanded a player who wasn't paying attention. The player was reading lyrics to a popular rap song and Coach Gundy read the same lyrics to the group. One of the players was upset by the situation and afterwards coach Gundy apologized to the player.

A PR person can spin it much better than that. This was very sloppy and doesn't add up.

Oh I agree I’m just admitting what he apparently said and under what context doesn’t matter. I probably think he got pissed off because one of the paid semi pro athletes was supposed to be paying attention in his football business meeting and he sees the guy dicking off on his IPad and in the heat of the moment probably lost his cool about it and said things you just can’t say. In the end that’s what it comes down to and it is what it is. I wish I knew the whole context to really call a spade a spade. I’d like to be pissed at the kid and am to an extent but who is to say he raised hell about it? Could have been someone else. I know one thing they better play harder than their emotions appear to be.

The issue that makes this divisive is the standard that’s set. Culturally, the use of the N word is acceptable in many contexts. We see it used in songs, movies, comedy shows, etc. Politically, it is never acceptable under any circumstances unless you’re part of a protected class. Colleges, universities, corporate America, and media have chosen to adopt the political standard when meting out punishment for using that word. That’s the disconnect. The unequal treatment is what further fuels the divide. It doesn’t matter who you grew up around or your background. The use of the word is either absolutely wrong and unacceptable or the offensiveness depends on context, like everything else.

There's nothing wrong with the Democratic Party. The mood in the country is people are angry with the Republicans way to conservative extremes

People are seeing an authoritative bent in the republican party. And voters don't like it.

The Democrats are poised to widen their margins in congress, the senate, governor's, and statehouses.

Start paying attention.
How they like that inflation? Trump will be along soon enough to right the ship. Why else would your party be crapping themselves and raiding his house hoping to find something , anything. How many investigations of Trump without one iota of wrongdoing to show for it. Embarrassing

Amazing. I didn’t think one could still type after a lobotomy.
