AUSTIN, Texas - Head Coach Tom Herman announced the addition of offensive lineman Calvin Anderson on Mondayafternoon. Anderson, who signed with Texas as a graduate transfer, expects to graduate from Rice University this spring with degrees in mathematical economics and religion and a minor in business.
“Calvin is a great story,” Herman said. “He’s an under-recruited kid who took his football development very seriously and it shows. He’s a very intelligent, engaging and bright young man who is also a tremendous football player. It was a joy getting to know Calvin and his family, they are among the most impressive I’ve ever come across in recruiting. We’re thrilled to have him in our program.”
A graduate of nearby Westlake High School, Anderson started the final 36 games of his collegiate career. He was a two-time All-Conference USA selection and was rated as one of the top offensive linemen in the nation in pass blocking efficiency a season ago.
