CFB Playoffs: Who do you like?

If Wisconsin wins the Big 10 and Georgia beats Bama in a close one or Georgia loses to Bama in a close one, I can see the Big 10 being left out. But, Ohio State has a better resume (strength of schedule) than Wisconsin and will be in if Bama handles Georgia by 2 scores.

Right now I’d have to go.

Bama
Georgia
Ohio State
OU

With Ohio State beating Penn State and Iowa State beating TCU. OU has to be viewed differently than maybe they were a couple weeks ago. I do think though that the big 12 will be punished for actually having a good conference.

If OU were to beat a highly ranked OSU and TCU as well as beating WVU, I’m not sure we wouldn’t be in the discussion. Obviously that’s a what if at this point....

TCU needed to stay undefeated and they lost to Iowa State. So, OU beating TCU will not be as impressive unless OU destroys TCU.

I don’t think OU needes TCU to necessarily be undefeated. If Ohio State continues to roll and Iowa stste looks good. Assuming a win this week they’d have 2 top 10 wins(Ohio State, and ok state). No one else has that. UGA has a chance at it later.

Agree. OU's loss is looking a heck of a lot better these days Still plenty of ball to play and OU could lose to OSU and TCU so definitely not getting ahead of myself, just playing the what if game.

OU definitely needs Iowa State to win out. I didn’t realize Iowa State had played so well this year and only lost 2 close games. OU has as good as shot (or better than Clemson), if they win out.

No offense but I hate these discussions. I hope there are no undefeated teams and as many one loss teams as possible. This will always be political until it can be settled on the field. 4 16 team conferences with the winner of each conference going to the playoff. No politics or undue favor.

Miami might be a team you have to consider. They play Va tech and ND in back to back weeks. They aren’t winning pretty but they are winning.

and Clemson. At this point if they win out, it would be:
Bama
Clemson
tOSU
Georgia>ND>ou>Miami

Georgia and bama probably play in the SEC championship-one will get knocked out
Miami and ND still play. ND still has a tough schedule with Miami/Stanford

I think if UGA plays Bama close and loses they could still get in. If Bama loses to UGA they have to be out. No one talks about this but anyone looked at Bama’s schedule? They’ve played no one.

I'd prefer more teams in a playoff scenario myself. Maybe the top 4 teams from each conference. Do away with OOC and CCG.

Clemson
Wisconsin or Ohio State
Alabama
Georgia

Would say Notre Dame, but don't see how you pick them over Georgia if they are both 1 loss. Hard to go with the team that lost at home vs the team that beat them.

For the first entry:

Bama
Georgia
ND
Ohio State

Big 12 has zero shot. Hopefully Texas does more damage to that on Saturday.

Bell, I used to want a larger playoff as well but the possibility of 4 16 team conferences where the selection process takes place on the field within each conference is more appealing. Less politics and more power to the teams on the field.

I'd even take a 6-team playoff. Just have the top 2 get a bye and have the next 4 play each other. Adds only 2 extra total games. Plus the 7th ranked team is going to have less of a gripe of not getting in than the 5th ranked team annually.

I agree with your premise, but same applies to OU. They drummed Ohio State. At Ohio State. It wasn't even close. This whole thing is a charade. Ohio State gets beat BAD by OU - but the polls (and I guaranty the committee) will have tOSU AND PSU ahead of OU, just to make sure there is no way Big 10 is left out. It wasn't funny when it happened to Baylor and TCU. Now it will happen to a blue blood. Come on Bell - I'm pulling for you - unleash the Sooner Nation on these idiots. PS - make sure you win out.

You have a point, but OU has had some close calls against meh teams. I expect them to have another slip up. Maybe they won't. I don't see them passing the eyeball test compared to Ohio State, Clemson, Bama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and maybe even Pedophilia State.
BIG10, SEC and ACC are virtual locks to get a team in. Maybe ACC is only 90%, but I think Clemson wins out or Miami continues to luck out. 4th spot will be a free for all.

ND needs to win out and hope Georgia beats Bama. Otherwise, I think they need help.
ND wins out with their loss to Georgia, they're in. Big 12 is feasting on itself and the PAC is trash.

UGA could get in as the 4th with one loss to Bama in the title game at this rate.

Clemson hasn’t beat a ranked team this year & they lost to Syracuse!
Not saying Clemson necessarily deserves to get in, but Clemson & Alabama are going to get the benefit of the doubt. Back to back championship games. Clemson's the defending champ and they didn't have their QB in the Syracuse game. And Saban has had a top 4 team every year for a decade (that might be an exaggeration, but not by much). Ohio State is not a team I'd like to be fighting for the last spot, will need a better resume if you aren't named Bama or Clemson. Life ain't fair, and these 3 kinda deserve the benefit of the doubt.

So if Ohio State wins BIG10, Clemson wins ACC, and Bama beats Georgia in a close game you think ND gets in over Georgia?

As long as tOSU wins out, Clemson wins out and Bama wins out and ND wins out, yes... They'll get the nod. Golden Domers National love fest.

ASSUMING everyone wins out ---- how can you POSSIBLY come to this conclusion? Because they have purdy mouths? Screw the eyeball test - I saw them play 60 minutes at the Horseshoe, and OU beat their a** handily! Why do we even play the games? Why don't we have a dress up fashion show and pick the winners? What kind of sport would actually settle it on the field? Not the freaking NCAA, which will ignore a HEAD TO HEAD matchup! They DID decide it on the field, and tOSU got destroyed! Where the F is Belldozer? Why am I fighting his fight? You Okies better start the PR campaign immediately, or you're gonna get left out!

The talking heads are high on OSU because they just beat Penn State. The rest of their remaining schedule is abysmal. Michigan State will be unranked by the time PennState gets done with them and that's the only team near the top 25 left on their schedule I believe. Meanwhile OU has to beat TCU, OSU, as well as WVU, Kansas. I think if OU beats those ranked opponents(TCU,OSU) plus a Big 12 CCG in the last couple weeks of the season, OU will have as good a chance as any.

Regardless of what anyone says or thinks the winner of the BIG10 & SEC is in. I think Clemson is as well if they win the ACC. Not sure how to debate those 3 spots. The 4th spot will likely come down to ND, Georgia/Bama, Penn State, & Oklahoma.

I realize that some of these teams will get beat, just going by where they stand today.

ND - lost to Georgia
Georgia/Bama - lost to either the #1 or #2 team in the last game of the season
Penn St - lost BIG10 champ OSU
Oklahoma - lost to Iowa State (solid team but not like the other slip ups)

I just think Oklahoma needs help, just winning out isn't enough. But others will likely give them that help.
