CFB Playoffs: Who do you like?

Haven't seen a lot of Georgia, but they seem legit.

If both come to the SEC Championship undefeated they will probably 1 & 2.

I would think a close win/loss should put both of them in.

Add tOSU & ND if they win out and there is your final four.

That will be fun because if it happens that leaves out a lot of conference champions.

If I were a gambling man, I would not bet on OU to win out. The defense is not reliable. But if they do? Including the CCG? They're in. Big time.

Well, lets see here . . . the top 4 teams in the CFP??

OK, I'll go with:

1. Tennessee Chatanooga's Teachers College A&T
2. Our Lady of the Poor Catholic Technical Academy
3. The Julliard School of Rythmic Dance
4. SW Rhode Island Institute of Computer Design

There ya go. Where's my prize? :D

I agree with your premise, but same applies to OU. They drummed Ohio State. At Ohio State. It wasn't even close. This whole thing is a charade. Ohio State gets beat BAD by OU - but the polls (and I guaranty the committee) will have tOSU AND PSU ahead of OU, just to make sure there is no way Big 10 is left out. It wasn't funny when it happened to Baylor and TCU. Now it will happen to a blue blood. Come on Bell - I'm pulling for you - unleash the Sooner Nation on these idiots. PS - make sure you win out.

I'd like to support your reply about the committee. The tOSU ad is was named to the committee this year. The Clemson ad is on this committee as well. His son is also on the team. You know this committee doesn't have to answer to anyone. We don't get to see who voted for who. I can only hope that if tOSU and Clemson are on the bubble on Dec 3rd they will do the honorable thing and recuse themselves from the final voting.

But I'm pretty sure they won't.

Oh and in regards to Clemson being I contention even though they haven't beaten anyone. It's real simple they'rethe defending champs and with that go privledges

Oh and in regards to Georgia. They play South Carolina this week and then play at Auburn the week after. They close with in state rival Georgia Tech. There's reason to believe they will lose at least one, maybe two before the season.

When all is said and done the SEC will end up like they did last year. By that I mean 13 teams will knock each other out and all those teams will lose at least two games.

The 14th team is Alabama.

Yes I am replying to my own post. My apologies to the committee. For one week anyway.

Rankings out

1. UGA
2. Bama
3 ND
4 Clemson
5/OU
6 Ohio State

Miami at 10 but with their remaining schedule they’ll start shooting up the rankings if they keep winning. Bama’s 2 ranking suggest to me a loss to UGA might take them out totally.

It's all your fault Horns. UT is OU's second best win. Not good enough since Clemson beat the cool kids - Auburn and VaTech. Maybe next week.

Ha. That last sentence is why I'm humbly keeping mouth mostly shut. I still have the same concerns with my Sooners week in and week out as I did in August. If anyone recalls, my main concern was out wide receiver corps. Before the season, we were going to be relying on a former walk-on as our most experienced/reliable receiver, and trust me, I use the term experienced, very loosely there. Now, Lamb has been great. Our 2 receivers that transferred in have shown flashes here and there but nothing reliably consistent, our TE has been huge as well as our very talented FB and our backs also catch the ball really well. I sure wouldn't mind having a few of those Baylor receivers right now.
Our defense is what it is, schizophrenic. Last game it finally came around in the 2nd quarter but against a good offense, that game can get away from us real quick so in my opinion we need to worry more about our offense trying to outrun the other team rather than have to rely on our defense, or lack thereof at times. We need ALL of our receivers to step up and be consistent over the next 4 games to even be a legit playoff team, much less win our remaining games.[/QUOTE]

Bell, not sure I get it. Receivers the least of OU's problems. LBs, CBs, Safeties on the other hand.

I agree but what I'm saying is our cb's etc. aren't going to get any better this year but we do have room for improvement in our wr's being more consistent as a whole. Brown had a good game last game but in our other games both he and Badet have both had costly drops, fumbles etc.

I think we can agree, even if it is on a Horn board, the OU D, unlike UT's, cannot afford a single dropped pass or fumble on O. Hope we are so lucky on Saturday.

I think we have the same premise here, I'm just thinking that Mike Stoops is going to Mike Stoops and it may be easier to counter that by having our offensive skill players play out of their mind to offset the damage caused by our defensive woes at times.

Lucky? You said lucky? OK is so much more in OSU's head much more than UT ever was against a&m.

I thought OSU had finally done away with OK's psychic hold on them when they beat OK for the conference title in 2011. But it's gone back to the same old thing. I may be a horn through and through but I will be shocked if OSU wins.

Hope so Cali. Stoops had the magic. 'Cept in 2014 when he made the ridiculous decision on the penalty that lost the game. Maybe Riley will inherit it.

In 2014 both teams were mediocre. And that 2014 team was the only Stoops team I ever saw that was not focused. We should have beaten you guys by a double digit margin that year.

Let me be specific. Since that 2011 game when the Big XII title was at stake for at least one team OK won all three games.

Never say never but I'll be shocked if you guys lose.

Do you follow OK recruiting? I read where two of Stoops last three recruiting classes were in the top ten. But over the last few years OK has recruited less and less in Texas. What I'm wondering is since Lincoln Riley is a West TX boy will OK return to their tradition of recruiting in TX?

The best thing that could happen now is for Texas to walk into Fort Worth beat the Frogs and go home....Leaving the douchebags at OU whining about their chances deteriorating even if they win it. lol

Let me okie logic for you in that scenario. "UT is a better win for us now! We're a shoe in!" It always should come out in their favor regardless.

538.com has OU at a 97% chance to make the playoff if they win out.

Going forward, nothing that Texas does can affect OU. Now, winning out, on the other hand....

Wrong, if Texas wins out, it will further hurt OU's SOS and who knows, a possible rematch. I'm not so sure they want to play Texas again.

You know what? ISU is going run the tablethe rest of the way and will play OK for the Big XII title. The cyclones are ranked number 15 it will be interesting to see where they're ranked when the Big XII title game comes around.

Now they're not going to make the playoffs everybody knows that. Our horns are not in the running for Big XII title but I'm glad we played them before they played OK. And hey we'll have a "quality" win at the end of the season☺

One other thing. I don't root for the competition but since were out of the running for the conference title I'll be happy for ISU if they run the table and win the Big XII title. Of course i have self serving reasons for saying this we beat them. But wth let them have one year of glory it ain't going to hurt us.

Since I honestly believe we have the better squad this year, I would love to play you guys again in the CCG. OU defeating TX in football is like Christmas + Thanksgiving + Birthday. It just doesn't get much better from a sports perspective.

better squad?

Better O. Is true. Offense will win you some games but that pitiful excuse for a defense isn't going to win anything on the big stage. Texas finds any rhythm on offense and they're not a team you want to play again for giggles.

Gundy was on point when he said in his post game interview. We're going to load up and get on the road before they make us play again.

Cali. Interesting point about OU maybe playing Iowa State in the Big 12 championship. ISU 15th in the CFP rankings this week. OU was 15th in the first ranking in 2015. As to Riley recruiting Texas, seems more effort there. Although this year the mother lode may be at IMG in Florida

I believe that IF OU wins out, they will be in. By that point, they will have beaten OkState, TCU, and West Virginia, plus beaten someone ranked in the championship game. After beating Ohio State the way they did, I don't see any way to leave them out; plus there is that pesky 13th data point that everyone used against the Big 12 in the past which will be rectified this year. ND doesn't have that data point. I tend to think OU will lose at least one more, but if they don't, I think you have to include them.

Texas is by far the best 4-4 team in the nation at this point.

I doubt OU wants to play anybody again, but as far as the potential opponents we are the weakest.
