I am trying to wrap my head about what these games mean.

Here is the conference break down for the playoff

Big xii - 1 team (ISU, BYU, ASU). I give Colorado no shot.

BIG - 4 teams (OSU, Oregon, PSU, Indiana), there’s a chance of 3 if Indiana loses to Purdue, but that seems highly unlikely as Purdue is ass.

SEC - 3 teams (UT, Georgia, Tennessee, Aggy, Bama, South Carolina). Aggy only goes if they win out, and if that happens Tennessee is out and it’s UT, Georgia, Aggy. Otherwise, it’s Tennessee, Texas and Georgia. If Indiana loses to Purdue or maybe if Notre Dame loses, then Bama, Clemson or South Carolina go.

ACC - Conference winner and loser likely go, while the other stays home unless the loser is SMU. Outside shot at 3 teams if Notre Dame or Indiana lose

Notre Dame in with win. Likely still in with loss.

Boise or Tulane take the last spot. Likely Boise

Key games
  • Texas/Aggy - Aggy loss and they are out
  • Indiana/Purdue - Indiana loss and they are out
  • Notre Dame/USC - not necessarily a must win for ND, but puts some doubt on making playoff
  • Clemson/South Carolina - winner with outside shot at playoff, loser out
  • Auburn/Bama - Bama loss and they are out
  • Vandy/Tennessee - Tennessee loss and they’re out. Bama and South Carolina back in play.
  • Miami/Syracuse - same as with Notre Dame, likely still in
  • Georgia Tech/Georgia - Georgia only out with loss here and loss in SEC championship

BigXII games - who cares. However it shakes out they get 1 in.
