This could happen and it is how I would handicap the CGS if played today.

12-1 FSU ACC Runner-up
12-1 Louisville ACC Champion

12-1 Georgia: SEC runner-up
12-1 Alabama SEC Champion

12-1 Oregon PAC12 Champion
12-1 Washington PAC12 Runner-up

12-1 OSU B1G Runner-up (reg season win over UM)
9-3 or 10-2 Big 10 Champ (insert whoever wins the other division)

12-1 Texas B12 Champion
11-2 Oklahoma B12 Runner-up

11-1 Michigan
10-2 ND top independent
10-2 Ole Miss - losses to UGA and Bama

My 4 -
1 - Alabama
2- Oregon
3 - Louisville
4 - Texas

In 2024, this would be the 12 team playoff perhaps (ND or Miss are left out)

OU listed for reference to show Texas avenged it’s only loss and has a win over the #1 overall seed.

This scenario has OSU, FSU, UW, and GA all undefeated until CCG.
Unlikely, I know, and their fans would go crazy if they were left out of the playoff.

This is a situation where late losses are punished more than early ones, and conference championships are valued over regular season

Only the B12 and BIG CCG Teams will meet in regular season. This will likely be the norm moving forward.

If Bama loses CCG to Ga, or OU takes another regular season loss, then ACC champ likely beats out Texas for the last spot.

Texas needs to beat an 11-1 OU in the CCG and hope for a 2 loss conference champ in one of the other conferences to feel safe.

If we win the conference and miss the playoff, that is still a great season that exceeded expectations, but of course I hope UT makes the top 4. Hook’em.
