Texas coach Charlie Strong said quarterback David Ash will no longer play football. Strong said Ash came to him recently and said he no longer wanted to play football after sustaining at least three documented concussions in his last three games. Strong said Ash will still be a part of the program and will help out the other quarterbacks on the roster.
In addition, Strong said defensive tackle Desmond Jackson will have season-ending foot surgery, but said there is a chance he could receive a medical redshirt.
