Hard to believe it’s been over a half century ago. These highlights of Dallas’s victory, en route to its first Super Bowl victory and NFL championship, are like a who’s who of early Cowboy icons:







Later that evening, Kansas City and Miami, Dallas’s eventual Super Bowl opponent, played an overtime playoff epic — still to this day the longest game in NFL history. The Chiefs’ HOF kicker Jan Stenerud missed a chip shot 30+ yd FG near the end of regulation to send the game into the first OT and an eventual Dolphins second OT win:
