What do ya think about him? Some are saying that he can't recruit and has no Pitchers or Hitters ?

Texas had the #1 recruiting class in the nation last year. The Horns have great pitching, but yet again are light on hitting. I don't understand why they can't hit the ball more consistently. If Pierce has another year like last year, he's in trouble.

Some blame it on the size of Disch-Faulk Field. Kids that are good hitters are hesitant to play half their games there because it is harder to hit homeruns and their stats suffer. I'm sure other coaches in the state like to point this fact out as well. I have no idea how much of an impact it has but that is what I've heard...

Now on the other hand that would give us an advantage in recruiting pitchers...

A larger field will hurt home runs, but should help for singles, doubles and triples.

You make a great point, but once a kid starts going yard it's usually all they will swing for!
