Breaking news, I know. The excuses just keep piling up with this guy. Used to really like him as a fighter but this is pathetic at this point.

Really don’t wanna see him jump in there with Dustin anymore. It’s time to for him to swallow his pride, cut back down to 145, and fight Max or volkanovski for one last title run

None of it matters though, he cashed out a long time ago

most Of this is for show. He’s an entertainer. The more controversial he is, the more people stay tuned in For the next fight And big payday. He didn’t become a multi millionaire just because he is/was a good fighter, he’s also a good showman. If he just said “ I lost, he’s the better fighter” and walked off into the sunset, you think he’d still be in the daily news? nope, keep folks talking about you until the next big payday.

As a non mma guy, explain to me like I am 5 why someone need to make an excuse for their leg breaking in a fight that wasn't purposely caused by the opponent. I get the other guy technically wins, because he obviously couldn't continue, but it's not like he got his ass whipped or something.

I’m not sure I’ve ever even seen a replay of any of this guys fights

mans I do stop and watch UFC from time to time when channel surfing

This. What a quote. I’m going to steal this.
It's a famous Vince Lombardi quote from 60 years ago.People have been stealing it for a LOOOONG time:)

He had a bunch you still hear today:

“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.”

“Winners never quit and quitters never win.”

The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.”

“It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.”

“Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.”

“Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”

OH and **** Conner McGregor

He’s lying. Regardless, he unfortunately is pillow fisted when he can’t fight manlets.
His power pretty famously went away after the Alvarez Title(the move to 155). I’m struggling to find a name in the top 10 of the lightweight division he would have a shot beating

Even Khabib was saying “he never really hit me with any punch where I said wow.” I wanna say Dustin said something similar on JRE

The fact that people, like the OP, still care enough to view and start conversations about it is why Conor will keep getting paid. The guy is done.

I am not a mma guy, but I believe there is speculation that the initial fracture was caused when Poirier checked one of McGregor's leg kicks, so I'm not certain that it wasn't caused by Poirier.

Also not an MMA guy, but something that we know leads to injuries is fatigue. You get tired, you get sloppy, you get injured.

So maybe it was getting checked on a leg kick, maybe it was lack of conditioning, maybe it's that McGregor went into the fight injured - I don't think it really matters. At the end of the day his opponent was prepared and he wasn't.

CM is claiming the leg was fractured before the fight and the UFC doctors knew about it. No comment from their end yet.

He trained for 4 weeks alone in Abu Dhabi with no coaches. It’s coming out that this was yet another half assed Ill-designed camp

This will always be ground zero for horrible mma gameplans. Reflecting on Eddie fighting a slow paced, distanced striking match still makes me smh to this day. Oof.
It really was a terrible gameplan. The way Conor in his prime could get the top guys like Aldo to crumple up their game plans and throw them in the trash was remarkable

Rewatching it just now you can already see Conor’s power gap in the weight class. Eddie is a savage and recovers so well, But Conor had to hit him with bombs over and over again until that last 4 piece combo he threw at him. There’s a good Chance Conor would have gassed out if Eddie could have implemented a smart gameplan at all

Yep. Aldo and Eddie both win with just average fight intelligence. Not sure what deal Conor made with the Devil to have both fight exactly like he wanted them to.

But nothing will ever top Mendes getting a few days heads up to fight. Even just an average camp and he would have finished Conor.

They really protected him and set up his run perfectly if we wanna look back at his career honestly. He ducked prime Frankie Edgar and Mendez and Aldo Rematches repeatedly for obvious reasons.(also prime Tony Ferguson)

Crazy to look back and realize Floyd was the one to take Conor’s soul from him.
