I see one of the local news channels is doing an investigative report on how covid is disproportionately affecting the minority community...specifically Blacks & Hispanics.

Is Covid racist or is the media making it a racial issue?

Doing some online research...factors that put minorities at higher risk are
1) unhealthy diet
2) obesity
3) jobs that put them at higher risk
4) social disobedience
5) cultural habits

What I find interesting is that (once again) minorities have found a way to "corner the market" in some kind of plight that is disproportionately affecting them...or at least, THAT'S HOW THE MEDIA WANTS TO FRAME IT. Nevermind the fact that covid is also affecting millions of poor white Americans that face the same issues above (overweight, poor diet, civil disobedience). Also nevermind the fact that covid doesnt care what color or race you are.

What gets ignored is that diet, lifestyle, & obedience of rules are all PERSONAL CHOICES. So once again, we make external excuses for groups of people why bad things happen to them & why they aren't smart enough to make better personal choices.

Its almost like personal accountability & responsible have been completely thrown out the window these days. I guess its easier to make excuses why bad things happen to poor people instead of trying empower them through the power of positive personal choices.
