Crow?

Yes. Herman told the graduating seniors if the team won the title next year, he'd buy them all rings for laying the foundation. Big leap there.

Just his way of saying he won't forget the hard work the seniors put in to help get things going. I don't think he meant it as setting an expectation of winning the B12 next year.

Hopefully it's Tom Herman. When you look at this past season game by game it's not a "minor miracle" to think the Horns could contend for the Big 12 championship next year. There was not a single game this year that Texas didn't play straight up and could of won. The previous three years were different. In several of the of the losses they were ran off the field. I think the stat was 11 of the 21 losses in the Charlie Strong era were by 18 points or more.

Just marginal improvement would go a long way in the W/L column next year.
That’s all true. But it’s also been that way for the last 3-4 years. We’ve been a play here, a FG here, a bad snap there from beating teams like ok state, Baylor(when they were good) and OU and USC. We gotta get over the hump in a couple of those type games before we can think about a conference title.

The reason I use the term minor miracle is the defense can’t be much better so for us to get to that level the offense has to be the reason. Hard to see at least right now where the offense gets that boost they need.

I agree. 1 additional TD per game on offense (average) would have made a world of difference. Why can’t we improve by 7 offensive points per game (next season)?

If that would have happened this year, we beat USC, OU, OSU, & Tech. We are 10-2 going into bowl season.

I guess he should have told the team, “Guys, we have no chance of competing for the conference championship next season. Why don’t we shot for 8 wins next year. Don’t you guys think a one game improvement is a more realistic expectation? We still aren’t sure about our QB, we lost some good defensive players, and none of you Oline men are any good. So next year I want our motto to be “At least we finished better than last year”. How does that sound current players and incoming recruits?”

Who, in the Big 12 (next year), does Texas have no shot at beating?

IMO, TCU could be our hardest game. BTW, who does TCU lose (on offense) by next season?

I doubted this team & staff tonight. I was wrong & I deserve a large serving of crow.

I learned that this team & staff are more than capable of winning games when players are out & chips are down. Therefore, I believe Texas can win 8 next year. That’s the cellar for next year’s team - 8 victories.
I would know from experience that crow goes very well with Christmas leftovers
