Everyone knows he is fired. Boosters are talking to agents. Big problem with Dabo is if they get to the cfbp. We need a guy in place before the dead period.

so he is fired...but gets to coach until Friday...I hope he steals all of the office supplies and toner from the copiers....who the hell gets fired and still gets to keep his job one more week.

An employee at a company with no leadership. He gets to coach the bowl game to. As his replacement and his staff move in lol

Only in Texas.

I don't think they fire coaches at UT, he will be officially reassigned.

Swinney's salary will continue to grow, too, as the deal runs through 2021 and will pay him an average of $5.125 million per year on a prorated basis. As for the buyout, it would be really expensive for Clemson to fire Dabo right now! Swinney's buyout is $20 million for 2016 and 2017.

Just damn....I was rooting for Sweeney to be hired 3 years ago. I was hushed because "Chad Morris was the brains behind Sweeney". Now as @madcow12 indicates, the media storm of fecal matter will really commence and Dabo doesn't strike me as a fool. He'll take one look at the circus and won't want anything to do with it.

"Fire Dabo????" Seriously? He makes $5.75 Mill now, and that's because he took part of his raise a couple of years ago to raise the salaries of his assistants. Don't look for Dabo to jump to Texas any time soon.

Pretty sure that's what that is as well, but if Texas is going to throw 8-9 mil at Herman then throw 10 at Dabo.

Yeah if the Horns put down say 60 million could Clemson match that? Not sure they could.
Let me answer that for you. Hell no. Do not have that kind of money. But Dabo isn't money hungry. I'm sorry to say, but why would any coach want to go through what Mack and Charlie have had to go through?

A coach that is losing most of his playmakers and he can make money taking over and up in coming roster in the best recruiting ground in country.

So if Dabo isn't money hungry and Is willing to talk to Texas wouldn't that suggest he's interested and not trying to squeeze Clemson?

I agree. Dabo cares about $$, otherwise he wouldn't listen to Texas. Listening to Texas benefits him in 2 ways: 1) potentially landing the Texas job and/or 2) elevating his Clemson salary to retain him.

We lost a ton of playmakers after last year too, and going to the playoff again. Dabo has gotten us to the point where we are reloading, not rebuilding. Minus the question mark for QB next season (even though we have 3 behind DW now, and a 5* coming in), we are loaded at every position. Not worried about WR.

You ARE in the best recruiting country. It should be fairly easy for any coach at Texas to recruit. And you have more money than anyone to throw at a coach. I wish you guys luck. And not saying Dabo wont listen, but I dont think he's interested in the job or the money. Just my two cents. Good luck vs. TCU! I've got you in 3 pools.
