Way before my time, but I've seen a couple of poor quality photos where it appears we had some players with gray facemasks mixed in with guys that had white facemasks. When I search for it, no good, clear photos come up, but it looks like there's some shops selling unofficial replicas. If so, was this considered part of the uniform, or just what the option was from the vendor at the time? A game with a throwback gray-facemask, black cleats, and no "Texas" on the jersey would look sick.
