According to Mother Jones and an excited MSM he does. Apparently O'Reilly on any number of occasions has described himself as a "Falkland Islands war correspondent" in 1982 who was "in the war zone." The truth is he, and most every other war correspondent at the time, was based in Buenos Aires, Argentia. The only "war zone" he personally observed were the demonstrations and riots in the streets of the city.
Is it inaccurate to describe himself as a "Falkland Islands war correspondent?" I'm not really sure.
Was he in the "war zone?" No.
Does this rise to anywhere near the level of Brian Williams' misrepresentations? Of course not.
