DOJ explicitly asked Adam’s for a quid pro quo - his help on immigration policy in exchange for dropping the charges DOJ also told prosecutors to destroy their notes from this meeting, knowing it was corrupt.

Today, many DOJ officials (including Sassoon, a Scalia clerk and FedSoc member who wrote and published her letter regarding the conduct) have resigned, refusing to participate in this conduct because they would have to lie to a judge.
