The left, i.e. the Democrat Party, have a very influential group of lawyers organized under the Lawfare Blog to support and develop Democrat Party causes especially with regard to national security and DOJ topics. Many of them are current and former staffers in the DOJ and or partisan advocates in the legal community for the Democrats. Many have worked with the Mueller team and DOJ on investigations and research.
