Durant to Warriors

So they give up Barnes and get Durant. Good grief are there enough shots for that team.

And you're telling me that going to a team with 1 ring verses a team with 5 was a better choice?

He comes to SA and you can just mail us the trophy.

Some were bagging on him for leaving OKC. It's like have these people ever been to OKC vs the bay area? Cost of living is much higher, but I don't think Durant cares, and he doesn't strike me as one to blow all his cash. He'll get better looks and the favorite to win the next several rings if they can keep Curry after next year. This is the deepest team since the 80's Lakers.

They have a young squad compared to the spurs. And looks like Duncan will be retiring and Ginobili will be coming back and now Gasol has signed. But you can't argue with the lineup of Green, Curry, Thompson and Durant. Younger squad then ol san Antonio.

You can mail the trophy too the Bay now.

Not a Golden State fan at all but that team will be nasty and now Curry isn't the best player on the team.

You give Durant too much credit. Westbrook was the best player in the thunder. Durant went Mia during that 3-1 meltdown.

Cost of living in San Fran is ridiculous. Durant will cost himself just about 7 million over two years JUST IN STATE INCOME TAX.

7 MILLION DOLLARS to live in northern cali---- A new Ferrari 488 is around $250k. That means he could have bought 28 new Ferrari's over two years. That's more than one per month.

That's 7 million he could have donated to charity or a worthy cause like the Carver Academy (David Robinson) and put roughly 70 kids through college.

But Noooooooooo---- lets give all that money to lying, cheating, thieving politicians----- way to go KD-- instead of you being in charge of where your small fortune is spent, you put corrupt politicians in charge of your 7 million.....

The team that won 5 is long gone. I hate the Warriors but I don't root against Longhorns so I guess I will have learn to like them.

I thought NBA contracts took taxes into account for pay?

A team with Parker, Leonard, Durant, Aldridge, Gasol starting wins a title. No question.

Some sooner fans, I mean Thunder fans, are already burning their KD jerseys. There is a small segment on the ESPN website.

Sorry but KD is a hypocrite. He was ragging on all the players joining the Heat and Laker bandwagons 5 or 6 years ago.

He won't be living in San Fran. Most likely Downtown Oakland in the high-rise building by the lake. It's expensive in california but no way in hell he would move across the bay. All the other players stay in Downtown Oakland or other communities in the East Bay

Lost respect for KD today. I rarely agree with Stephen A. Smith but I did today, this was a punk move joining the team that just beat you and you were up 3:1.

Why stay in OKC? It's nothing there for him. He wants to win a championship and it's not going to happen there. I'm glad he stayed in the western conference

He didn't have to stay in OKC but don't be a front runner and join the favorite team, especially right after they just ripped your heart out. That's how I feel anyway.

I think if he would've went to your team, you would be super excited. I'm a Rockets fan and I would've loved to have him there but what can my team offer him? NOTHING, just like OKC, SA, LA's. The only team that has the money and a championship roster was GSW. Would you be ok with him going to the CAVS? Nope

Just like somebody joining the Yankees in MLB to ride their coat tails for a ring. No guts IMO.

I can't stand the Yankees but if they have the money to offer a guy. You not go. If you were a manager for mcdonalds and getting paid 50 thousand a year but burger King wanted you and offer you 75 thousand. Would you pass it up to be loyal to the team and fan? You are going to do what's in your best interest. I get where you are coming from but in this day and age. There is no loyalty. No loyalty from players and owners verses the 80' and 90's. Heck, look at our so call Longhorn fans this past year. No loyalty but when we winning, everyone is a fan.

Good grief. He gets to WORK where he wants and that is a bad thing? Don't we get to WORK where we want to? yes he took the easy way but it is his choice to work where he wants to.

It's just hurts my heart a bit. Austin is right up the road from SA- pop is hands down the best coach in the NBA- spurs have the best defensive player in the NBA- he would get to team up with a fellow longhorn---

JUST so many good story lines if he would have come to SA.

And yes, he still has to pay taxes on his contract.

I wish he had come to SA to. I will still root for KD though. He seems like a good guy. I thought he would be more a competitor than he is though. Never thought he would go to the Warriors. I hate the warriors.

Has his new contract terms come out yet? I figured he'd do a 1yr max with a players option on a 2nd yr at okc.
