A needed vent.
I’m sitting vigil with a friend and his family for his 38 year old wife in her last hours of her fight with cardiac angiosarcoma. She was a fit, athletic woman that originally thought she was just working out too much and couldn’t figure out why her heart kept racing at times.
In the last year and a half she has undergone surgery, coding twice after having part of her heart removed and reconstructed, chemo, blood transfusions to bring her counts within range to receive chemo, gamma knife for brain mets, clinical trial evaluation and rejection, and finally having her liver fried from chemo and mets. She went downhill very quickly in the last week and he is just ready to make the sacrifice of losing her for her to be at peace.
Anyway, fvck you cancer!
Hug your loved ones.
