Fire Six win Steve

What makes this loss so frustrating is that Tech isn't really a good team. They've had much better teams in years past, but this one is several notches below those teams. I get it that no one likes losing, but the season isn't over, the sky isn't falling, and Texas isn't going to fire Sark. When Ewers comes back, we should be in good shape and as good or better than most teams in the Big 12. Sark and Co need to keep pounding the recruiting trail and keep stocking the cupboard with top talent. I like the direction of this team much better than things were under Strong and Herman.
Just curious why do you like the direction the team is headed? Sark shouldn’t be losing to Tech in year 2, even with a backup qb. Too much talent. The team seems to have regressed since the bama game.

I foresee a few more disappointing losses like this even with Ewers back this year.

I see a much improved team attitude. Sark has done a good job of getting rid of the entitlement and woke cancer, which is huge. If anyone thought that Texas wasn't going to lose four or five games this year, they were kidding themselves. No, Texas should be losing to an average Tech team. Lubbock is a very tough place to win at. Upsets happen. Look around CFB, you see good teams struggle and/or lose every week. We're not even 1 1/2 years into Sark's team. It's way too early to hit the panic button. Patience.

57 of the 85 scholarship players are underclassmen. He’s limited as a play caller with what he can do with Card under center. Teams are keying on our run game because they know Card can’t beat them with his arm. That will change when Quinn gets back and will make this offense that much more explosive. Still lots of ball left to be played.

Exactly. People are overreacting. Too many knee-jerk folks. You can't give up and fire a coach after less than 1 1/2 years on the job. If any program did this, no coach worth his salt would consider that program.

I’ve come to the conclusion that no coach will win here. This team is a product of their environment. Too many boosters dictating what’s going on, the soft ass atmosphere that the university and town itself puts off. When you hear the words UT and Austin you don’t think tough, you think weird, liberal entitlement. I’m convinced it doesn’t matter the coach or how many five stars we recruit. The atmosphere will ruin the kids and they’ll regress athletically until they graduate and don’t get drafted.

Has everyone finished overreacting to yesterday's loss yet? It sucks but I expected this year to looked like that considering all of the variables.
Brand new QB, fish starting in the trenches, new kickers, major losses pre-season, new QB lost qtrs into season, 2-time passed over back-up QB hobbled, best player on defense ruled ineligible, star deep threat receiver leaves injured so Tech can stack the box leaving only 1 high. Good luck RB room, it's all on you now.

Look, there are no excuses but we also have to have some patience considering the reality we're working with.

Here's something to melt your brains. Kansas looks like legit CCG contenders. Has ANYONE lost to Kansas in consecutive years?.....in football?

I don’t think any rational person is saying Sark should be fired (other than the OP lol), but we should at least expect an improvement from last year. So far that is not happening. Another losing season seems likely this year.

If Sark has another losing season then what. Give him another year? I think it’s safe to say at this point that Sark is not some elite level coach like Saban, Urban, Dabo etc. Given his performance here and at previous stops, he is pretty mediocre.

I don’t think he will ever get Texas back to where it needs to be.

This team is in some trouble. We have lost 8 of our last 11 games. I think that's the worst in Texas history going back to the 1800s. This team is ass. There is no getting around it. We should have kept Tom Herman.

Our only wins came against a bad K State team that had given up last year, ULM, and UTSA. Sark lost to a HIGH SCHOOL coach yesterday. Sark gets to .500 at best. We should have kept Herman.

Is it possible for an AD with 2 Director Cup wins could warrant termination for horrible mismanagement of revenue sports?

First off, we have one of the worst fvcking fan bases in college football. So many fvcking doomers and people calling to fire coaches almost immediately. It’s funny how when the defense is good, Gary Patterson is to credit. When it’s bad, it’s all PKs fault.
Secondly, we seem to have gotten lost in the over-performance against Bama. THIS WAS ALWAYS A 7-5/8-4 TEAM!! We are fvcking young. We lost Neyor and Anguilau. Ewers has missed time. Card, Bijan, Worthy have been banged up. Yet, if I were to tell you preseason that those things would happen and we would start the season 2-2 with losses by a combined 4 points, you would have taken it.

At some point, the players need to be criticized. Card, although I respect his toughness, is just not a good QB. His INT was ugly, he freezes in the pocket, he holds the ball forever, his deep ball isn’t there and he doesn’t see wide open receivers. Worthy has a case of the drops. Coaching wise, our run blocking is awful and tackling mobile QBs is an issue.

I thought before the season that Tech or WVU were going to be a game that we would drop. It’s time to move on. This season is a 12-round fight and we lost a couple of rounds. We have a coaching staff full of developers and I’m exciting to see the improvements. WVU should be a good game for Ewers to shake off the rust and RRS is starting to look like a must-win for Sark. Fvck fair weather fans. Fvck you! Fvck me! Fvck everyone! Youth movement comes with growing pains. Hook ‘em! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

I think you are missing the point.

Read it again. You missed the part where I mentioned Card is a bad QB.
People want to blame Card for everything. I don’t remember seeing him on defense allowing Tech to control the ball up and down the field the whole game. I hope Quinn is the answer, otherwise a lot of grown men on here will self destruct.

Exactly. Card, with all his limitations, helped us generate enough offense to win the game. Our defense was horrible! Plain and simple. On consecutive drives in the first half we had them on 3rd and 20 and then a 3rd and 26. On the 3rd and 20 we give up 18 yards to set up 4th and 2 and they convert. On 3rd and 26, we jump offsides giving them a free play which resulted in a pass interference. What’s the big rush to get off the line of scrimmage on 3rd and 26? Just hold your ground and watch for the ball to get snapped. Just stupid and undisciplined players! That’s on the players. They’ve been coached about situational awareness since high school. That’s on them! I’m not letting players off the hook by blaming coaches. I’ll blame the coaches if they continually play the same guys making the same stupid mistakes. If Hutson or Karic don’t improve their run blocking then get their asses on the bench and let DJ Cambell have a shot.

And Jalon Daniels QB is a legit Heisman candidate
And Quinne Ewers will play a max of 10 games at Texas and never sniff a CCG. He will be drafted in the top 5 in the NFL draft. Jalon Daniels will never play a down in the NFL.

Card is the problem. In the second half, our defense was gassed. Card and Thompson did this last year. We would get a lead and then quit in the second half. Card could not engineer any momentum on offense in the second half. He is not a good passer. His inability to throw downfield allowed a horrible defense to stack the box and limit our offense. With all the 3 and outs, our defense quit. It played 100 snaps against Tech's offense. We have the same problem that the Aggies have, our QB sucks and is one dimesional~ his best dimension is to hand off the ball. That's easy to defend bro. Our correlation to sucking is our horrific QB play. With QE for one quarter, we almost beat Bama. Think about that. We have sucked since.

Our defense is average at best. It's not good. Quitkowski runs a horrible scheme. He allows underneath passing all day long and that is what the big12 does.... dink and dunk. We are going to lose badly soon if this is not corrected asap.

If Sark sits in his weekly meeting with CDC and says that he thinks he can win with Card, he deserves to be fired. He either gets Quinne on the field or we lose. Poor QB play or lack of QB quality is the demise of Sarks system. If Sark has an average to bad QB, as in Card's case, his whole game philosophy goes down the drain. We need to grind the clock while punishing the other team's defense while resting ours. We can't do this with Card. He is not good enough.

You are the definition of a knee jerk reaction. If we start losing games with Quinn at the helm then I’ll start panicking. Until then I still like what we have going.

Looks like big 12 will be wild this year. Martinez best QB OU has faced since the LSU guy in 2019.And he only played so-so in Norman last year. Shows the talent disparity, and probably coaching, between Huskers and K State. OU has the same type of defensive problem as everyone else. Now KU is getting good. Doubt conf winner will wind up in the CFP this year.

Winner of the Big 12 will not to be in the playoff. The conf is proving to be a collection of good to to mediocre teams. Will all beat each other to a pulp. I thought UT would be improved, I thought OU looked good. So much for thoughts. It is what it is.

Thankfully you're not the AD. If it were up to you, everyone would be fired after every loss. I guess that you expected Texas to go undefeated this season.

I didn’t see Tech’s QB throw down field with any success

Your boy lost at home yesterday to KSU. At home. The same KSU team that beat OU last night scored 10 points against Tulane the week before and lost.

Keep telling yourself that Riley is a bad coach. He's not. SMH.
