No arguments here. SEC seems to do well in early non conference, but underperforms in most bowl seasons. Not sure what to make of it.
I can't say much because my team lost to Bama but Clemson absolutely demolished Bama last night. It's amazing what a little defense will do for you.
That's because they're usually playing the likes of Big Al's Truck Stop Tech in early non conference.
AND THEY GET TO PICK THEIR BOWL MATCHUPS! NOBODY ELSE DOES!

Bama played Ark State, Louisiana Lafayette, The Citadel and Louisville this past year. 4 cupcakes.
That's week 11. Was more thinking of games like Auburn vs. Washington and LSU vs. Miami (bad team, but ranked early), and Bama vs. Louisville. Which when scheduled was probably still good.
That’s because most of the SEC play crap teams OOC, so they can save themselves for that “brutal SEC conference play.”
Playing the likes of Kentucky, Vandy, Mizzou, Miss St, Ole Miss, Tenn, Arkie, So. Carolina, Auburn and aggie will take it out of you.

This ^. And the $EC should do the right thing and eliminate the cupcake OOC week in November and add another conference game. It's a joke the way the $EC manipulates their schedules to pad their overall win totals.

Well we've beaten the Tigers, the bulldogs and the other Tigers will be in town next year. Maybe we get Auburn next year in the cotton bowl and have all three tiger tails on the wall.

Sure it does to people who get college football. It shows Herman and Orlando's coaching ability. However, aggy won't acknowledge that improbable win because FSU isn't a $EC team and Fisher wasn't coaching at a&m then. aggy only uses what fits their narrative.
And speaking of Mizzou they have now lost two straight bowl games to Big XII teams. This year they were a double digit favorite over a 6/6 OSU team.

Joel Klatt said something about GA that Gameday has probably ignored. GA was 1/3 against the other NY6 teams. Hmmmmm..... But the biggest thing about GA that they will also ignore is what Todd Blackledge said about Jake Fromm. Blackledge said that when Fromm has to throw the ball over 22 times a game they have a losing record. Wth? Now unless you are the qb in West Point's offense if you throw the ball less than 22 times a game you're screwed. Even WI throws the ball more than 22x a game. It wouldn't surprise me if GA benches Fromm next year. I don't care if he's an SEC qb it's clear, at least to me, that Fromm is nothing more than a game manager.
But Gameday and the other talking heads and podcasts will only focus on the Bama/ against a clearly overmatched OK team. They will ignore the rest of the Big XII/ SEC matchups. They will also ignore GA's loss to TX they will focus instead on the SEC going 3/1 on the NY6 games.
One last thing with the people I mentioned above. It isn't just the SEC, it's also MI, tOSU, and Clemson. You know who didn't deserve to be in an NY6 bowl? MI that's who. tOSU dropped 62 and 567 on this alleged #1 ranked defense. And then FL ran for over 250 yards at 6 ypc in the PB. What did ESPN say that MI missed Devin Bush. Really? A lot of good he did them in the tOSU game. Instead they have MI ranked #5 in their way to early pre season predictions. I've learned to appreciate Joel Klatt for at least trying to keep it real.
Oh and one last thing Joel Klatt said about GA not wanting be in the SB. He said the GA players were talking trash about ND and OK during the playoff games on social media. They were also talking about they were going to do to TX. You think our guys didn't know about it?

Umm, we just offered you girls a home and away series that you declined. So we're playing LSU and Bama instead who aren't scared. You also ducked 2 bowl games. It's not on both sides. It's you that's scared to play.
