Texas coach Charlie Strong will interview Toledo co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Anthony Johnson on Tuesday, according to sources. Bobby Burton from 247Sports was the first to report Johnson's interview.

The Longhorns are looking to replace former running backs coach Tommie Robinson, who took a job at USC in January. Strong wanted to wait until after signing day to start the job search.

If Strong is seeking an assistant coach with Texas ties, Johnson is a qualified candidate.

Johnson was a member of Texas’ football team from 2001-05. He received a degree from Texas in applied learning and development in 2005. Johnson was an assistant coach at Jefferson High (Texas) for two seasons before serving as a quality control coach at Texas. He also served as an assistant at Sam Houston State before joining Toledo’s staff.
