FX and Hulu have renewed their critically acclaimed restaurant dramedy “The Bear” for a third season.
The renewal order has taken a shockingly long time to come through considering the show released its superbly received second season all at once approximately five months ago.
The first two seasons have scored a stellar 88/100 and 92/100 respectively on Metacritic, making it one of the best scoring series of the year.
Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, the third season won’t commence production until sometime in 2024. FX president Nick Grad says in a statement:
“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in Season 2, has become a cultural phenomenon.
We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”
The show’s first season is currently up for thirteen Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series as well as acting nominations for at least five cast members
