At what point does one's talent go from god given to coach developed? Are you all under the impression that all players either have it or not regardless of coaching?
 
Not really. When wooden was winning at UCLA the sport wasn't nearly as deep as it is today. Not that much different than the women's game today where you really have 4-5 elite teams. Then a big gap.

They are, in fact, different sports. (And the men's game was deeper even then than the women's game is today.) I don't mean this dismissively. They're just different sports. Men's and women's tennis players, golfers, and soccer players don't generally talk about chasing each others' records. Roger Federer was striving to pass Pete Sampras's 14 grand slams, not Margaret Court's 24.
