Old man yelling at cloud moment? Maybe, maybe not. I’m 37. Grew up attending games. Freshman year was 05. I love intense game environments. And crowd noise. And the band. I even love loud bass music.

But not when it’s played every second between plays during the game. It’s distracting. I can’t hear the band. I can’t hear the crowd noise. I can’t even hear myself think.

I get that it’s done to inject energy. To keep the crowd excited and energized and engaged. Perhaps even the players, too. But to me, it seems to do the opposite. It’s suffocating. It’s distracting. It takes away from a more substantive, empowering, intoxicating energy.

I know I’m not alone on this sentiment. Just curious where the fan base stands as a whole.

Give me half of what is currently pumped in. Most of the time I want to hear the band. And the people around me. And my own thoughts.

Hook em!
