Grilling on a Traeger

Consider a Primo or kamado joe ceramic grill with egg genius. Will set you back $1200 or more but gives you best of both worlds. High heat and wood/smoke flavor for steaks, pizza and chicken with smoking ease of traeger. The egg genius was the game changer for me. Smoked a brisket for 14 hrs last week, barely touched it. Only negative is limited grill space. Recommend Primo XL

Here is what you need to do. Forget about Traeger grills. You worded it correctly, it’s impossible to grill on a Traeger Pellet Grill.

here is my Suggestion. Go get yourself a PIT BOSS Pellet Grill. They have a sear plate, which when opened gives you direct contact with the flame which gives you the ability to grill. Traeger does not have a seat plate

everyone who I know who has a Traeger has the same problem your are asking about. Pit Boss Pellet grills solves that issue.

I have the Laredo and absolutely love it for grilling and smoking. No complaints

This is exactly correct. Pit boss offers the direct flame and if you add grill grates you can get 600 degrees easily for a steak. I still have a stick burner for the best steaks but when you are feeling lazy the pit boss will work.
