Has anyone considered leaving Texas due to the absolutely crappy summers?

As good as October through May is, June through September is just an absolute ball buster.

My plan has always been when daughter graduates HS to downsize and purchase a small house/condo up north (Michigan/Ohio/Pennsylvania) to spend the summers in, but that's 12 years away.
