We were soft today. I can't find a reason for it.... Could it be the culture on the 40 acres?
Agreed. Throw Gary Johnson in there. Malik isn't going to be DJ. Great kid but not as good of a ball player as advertised.I saw Malik make the same bad plays he did the last two years . Maybe time to move on. This is sickening.

We will be fine, everybody. Just give it a little time. The game situation today will reveal to the coaches some things that practices can't. They will identify the players game by game.
Derrick Johnson, too, please. And while we're add it, can we clone the entire 2005 OL?Can we clone Jammer and Nobis?
I once paid a witch in Allaquippa New York to put a hex on a guy--- Gust DavricadosI have asked if anyone knows of a witch dr to come and take the bad juju away

It was hard for priest to always shine because of two reasons- he had bad knees that kept getting injured AND the backfield was crammed full of talent- Ricky obviously, shon Mitchell, Darrell Wilson, Curtis Jackson, rod walker--With all the awesome rb's we've had, I'd settle for cloning Priest Holmes.... we missed so much there.

That was from "Charlie Wilson's War" bro. What was the outcome?
You should check it out. True story about a Texas congressman that explains a large part of the reason why Afganistan hates us.My bad I guess I missed that movie
Didn't Wilson HELP fund the Afghans war against the soviet union and supply weapons? I need to re-watch that movie. You should check it out. True story about a Texas congressman that explains a large part of the reason why Afganistan hates us.
He did as did Congress initially. However, after the Soviets left, our Congress refused to help rebuild Afghanistan and when thousands of people returned home and found their town destroyed and nobody to help them rebuild, the population (75% which were males under the age of 25) were a little pissed.Didn't Wilson HELP fund the Afghans war against the soviet union and supply weapons? Volleyball, T&F, Swimming & Diving, women's basketball, hell even baseball last season all competed hard and found success. And that's just a handful of the programs that had success this past athletic season.
PC culture at the university as a whole sure has avoided some other programs that have been able to maintain success and then some.

The football program is a bigger mess than anyone in the nation anticipated, and I honestly have no idea what the cure is. But it's very clear that there is a pervasive culture prevalent in the football program that has severely hindered its ability to compete at a high level consistently (or at all for that matter) and it's sickening. Far too often do I feel like I cared more about the program by just wearing a Longhorn polo and yelling during the game than the program's own players and coaches who were supposed to be the representatives of the university on that day
The sports referenced above do not involve brutal physical violence. I played football, soccer, and baseball in HS and football was the only one that destroyed my ankle and gave me bad head aches. The "snowflake" comes from the social justice warriors parading around campuses decrying sports like football as violent and oppressive to certain people. I am concerned that this stuff has the potential to influence our team in a negative way. Where a football scholly becomes a way to attend a university for free rather than taking pride in playing for and representing one's school
I agree with you on the pride part, but I wouldn't be overly concerned with these players being influenced by the same softies that hand out dildos on campus.
While the football team is soft, they, just like you, played football throughout high school and clearly excelled at it to the point of being offered to play at Texas. If they become soft or affected by the culture of the school, that's their problem and the coaches problem.
Also, if you don't think collegiate basketball men or women's, isn't physically imposing, I sincerely don't know what to tell you. And while the other sports I named are not collision sports like football, they take an immense amount of mental toughness and preparation, just like football, to succeed in (much less succeed at the rates those sports I named have). Our football team is mentally soft as it is physically. Maybe you can put some of that on the atmosphere of the campus as a whole. But at the end of the day, the football program controls its own destiny
really good movie. A lot to do with current events. Looks like Russia is trying to do tomus whst we did to themYou should check it out. True story about a Texas congressman that explains a large part of the reason why Afganistan hates us.
2300 Nueces, forget that I'm a Sooner for a moment and allow me to comment as just a generic-nobody and college football fan. You asked a great question, one that I too have asked about men's college sports in general.
Is it the cause for problems on the football field at UT? I sincerely doubt it. But deep down, there has to be some cause and effect going on here.
The growing trend on college campus is more and more toward an anti-masculine indoctrination. There are even policies and rules in place that discourage traditional masculinity as we know it, and attempt to change natural male attitudes and behaviors so as not to "offend", or violate "safe spaces" with "micro aggressions". It's sickening. All male students have this indoctrination crammed down their throats, telling them that acting like a man is somehow wrong and that males need to be soft and gentle. As traditional males, student become handcuffed and must act de-balled to comply -- or else pay a price. It's far more complicated than this, but here is a link to show what's going on at UT. There is an entire department devoted to this. It's happening on more and more campuses nationwide.

Back to football. I think Tom Herman was a great hire, and quite honestly (as a Sooner fan), he kind of scares the crap out of me. You guys will be fine.
Coach Herman Kisses all his players , that's snowflake Culture .
