I'm pretty sure I did Saturday night in Wimberley. And it has been creeping up on me the past few days. We were a group of about 30 trying to rescue people, and we did the best we could. We helped a lot of people escape. We cut down trees to make paths, rescued cars full of families, got an RV out of the river, knocked on doors, but we couldn't help everyone. We saw houses floating down the river, a lot. There were people in those. It's just starting to hit me what I saw. The morning after seeing the devastation was rough. This is a place we have been coming to for 8 years. The night of the flood was an adrenaline rush with fear for my family. Things are just starting to hit home. Has anyone else gone through this? I'm hoping this goes away soon, but the more I read, the worse it gets.
