I always thought it was ridiculous that a family could leave an entire kid behind when going on a family vacation. I am on a family trip to Hawaii right now, about to take off, and what I have learned is that it is the most realistic movie ever made.

I’m just talking about me, my wife, my two kids, and my mother-in-law. My kids are 4 and almost 20 months old. We could have easily left a person behind.

What makes it difficult is the 20-monther. In addition to being a ****ing psychopath, he requires us to bring so much shit with us. We’ve got a stroller and a travel car seat, and diapers and all that shit. My daughter is a perfect angel.

Now that we are on the plane, I’m in an exit row with my MIL. My wife has both kids about 15 rows back. It was her idea to do it like this, because I am tall, and uncomfortable in normal seats, but I still expect to be murdered for this arrangement, possibly before we land.

Carry on.
