I have been paying attention to the draft (I know the draft is not the end all be all) and it is hard for me to understand how the last staff missed on so many guys. They could have thrown darts and had a better hit rate. I thought Texas had the talent to compete week in and week out and keep a game close but I am starting to rethink that position. I still believe the Iowa St. thing was unacceptable but I am starting to fall in line with several posters on here (talking to you BRB etc.) that the talent was just not there to do that.
I still don't understand how they can play so good against ou and baylor the last 2 years and stink it up against a team with basically less talent in Iowa St. but it is not arguable that the last 2 years this team did not have the talent it SHOULD have had.
Anyway I believe this staff can and will get it done....no not this year. I do expect a 7 to 9 win season depending on how things fall...but the recruiting has been out of the ballpark compared to the last several Mack Brown years and compared to the rest of the Big 12 and most of the country.
Just want to admit I was probably wrong.
