This weekend I watched 2025's Best Pictured winner, and it was a painfully dull slog of a film that fails to deliver anything memorable. It is incomprehensible to think this won best picture over Dune II or even Wicked. From start to finish, it drags on with a lifeless and predictable plot with unlikable and unengaging characters that leave you checking your watch, hoping for it to end. The pacing is glacial, as most of the movie is a dysfunctional group of characters driving around in a car. The dialogue is also flat and contains way too many scenes of the characters just yelling unintelligibly at each other. Do yourself a favor and skip this one entirely—it’s not worth even a minute of your attention.
