He was great defensive coordinator at OSU and great DBs coach. In the Ryan Day mold of rising and extremely intelligent assistant coach. Very rarely can get legends to accept job with new team. OSU hire of Jim Tressel who was in lower division should also be remembered.

We shouldn’t hire a guy based off of one or two games. That’s how we got Strong and Herman

He didn't pull it off, so my point doesn't work any way. Will say that Luke Fickell has a very good record and has just thumped two very good teams in a row.
As an Ohio State fan, can't tell you how wonderful it is for Michigan to lose to Michigan State. Michigan looks down at MSU and they have to be upchucking right now that they will have to be hearing it from MSU fans all year long. Beautiful Schadenfreude.
